Diverse Texts for 3rd Grade!
Funded Dec 20, 2020Thank you so much for your kind donations A child being exposed to diverse pieces of literature can shape them to become caring community members. Being able to see yourself in the books you read is an important part of self esteem and acceptance. Representation reinforces diversity, cultural norms, and the melting pot we live in. These books will be used to celebrate and honor historic figures, expose scholars to different cultures and support our Social Emotional Learning (SEL). Reading allows scholars to temporarily escape the classroom, and with the quality texts we received, we cannot thank you enough!”

Our Class Pet Project
Funded Jan 28, 2021Thank you so much for your kind donations! Sir Chicken Nugget is a beloved member of our classroom community. The scholars look forward to greeting him every morning, and take pride in caring for him. Your donations allowed us to receive necessary supplies for his care. New tunnels, bedding, food, and an upgraded large cage are more than Sir Chicken Nugget could have imagined! 🐹 Having a class pet reinforces responsibility, empathy, and promotes social emotional skills and strategies that scholars can use both inside and outside the classroom. We are forever grateful for donors like you.”

Our School's Innovation Lab!
Funded Jan 20, 2021THANK YOU SO MUCH for allowing us to launch the Innovation Lab! This project has brought smiles to so many faces (underneath our masks of course). Scholars and families are grateful and excited to launch the Innovation Lab. This lab will engage scholars in hands on activities and challenges that will promote critical thinking and problem-solving.
Scholars were so excited to see the tower of boxes we received during the delivery. Their eyes lit up as we unpacked the materials. Without your generous donations, receiving materials such as Littlebits kits, Dash and Dot robots, a 3D printer, stem kits, and UBtech robots would not be a reality. During these times of hybrid learning and social distancing, the lab will still allow scholars to explore and learn both virtually and in person.
Thank you again for making a difference in the lives of our scholars.”

When scholars saw the materials, they could not believe it came from generous "strangers". They were amazed with our paper towel holder. "This will make our lives so much easier!" one scholar shouted.
The masks, paper towels, tissues, and gloves are part of our personal protective station. A new reality this school year made possible because of Donors Choose.”

Funded Mar 12, 2020Unfortunately, we received our donation right before the COVID-19 school shutdown. I never even got the chance to show the materials to my 5th grade scholars.Although my scholars never got the chance to use the materials, I know that they would have loved them. Headphones are a necessity in every classroom. It allows scholars to focus on the technology they are using. Because I am a fifth grade teacher, my current students will be graduating. These materials will now be used for my new class, in the fall. I look forward to a fresh start this fall, and welcoming my new scholars with quality materials thanks to donors like you.”

Today a Reader, Tomorrow a Leader!

Scholars were excited to explore the texts which reflected their diversity, community, and interests.
