Hydroponics: Who needs soil?
Funded Mar 28, 2025Thank you for giving to my project! I'm so excited that it was funded so quickly. It is a blessing and gives me encouragement to know that so many people see the value in hands on learning. My students will be thrilled when we receive the planters and they get to pick which herb they would like to grow.”

Listen and Move
Funded Apr 25, 2024We have started a new school year and the items you helped me purchase have already been put to great use!
The materials arrived at the very end of last school year and the students were so excited to see more wiggle stools. The new wiggle stools have a wider seat than the ones I already had and they have become a favorite! They are much more comfortable and are in constant use.
The clipboard storage has made organization much smoother. It's been great having an easy place to get the clipboards from.
Finally the headphones I received gave me enough new headphones to have a full class set. It has been such a relief to know that I don't have to worry about if the kids bring headphones or not because I have enough working headphones to cover them.”

Classroom Support Updates
Funded May 9, 2023These items have been such a help for the start of our school year! My students and I are quickly learning what support works best for each of them individually.
The headphones have helped with watching videos, having text read, and taking tests. My students rotate around who is using the wiggle stools and who has the cushions. Having these alternative seats and the desk bands has helped my students all have options for support to help them focus.
We are almost a month into school already and being able to start with these items right away has been a big blessing.”

Funded Nov 26, 2019Thank you so much for helping fund our project so quickly! The materials arrived right away and we have gotten busy using the headphones. These headphones have been such a blessing already and are of excellent quality. They are comfortable for the students to wear, easy to store, and I do not constantly worry about them breaking. My classroom is a much calmer place and I have been able to put my attention on the students who really need extra help instead of having to constantly read things aloud! Thank you again for your willingness to help give my kids the tools they need to be successful!”

Funded Aug 13, 2019Thank you for donating to my project "Putting the Imagination Back in Indoor Recess". My students have loved playing with these activities during indoor recess. Indoor recess used to be very monotonous with students playing mindless game. This year, they are excited for indoor recess and I can tell from their conversations that their minds are engaged in strategy. I have never seen the students so thoughtfully focused during indoor recess. Many of the students often choose to play these games at the end of the day once their work is done as well for a reward for positive behavior, instead of free time doing less engaging activities.”

Funded Jun 6, 2018Thank you for supporting our project. The project was funded right at the end of our summer vacation, so I was able to get everything ready for the first day of school! Every parent and student has gushed over the comfort and accountability of our reading center.
The openness of the shelves make our room feel bigger and give me the chance to see everyone from every point of the room. The cushions are used daily as a preferred seat for those who work best while sitting on the ground.
The reading area is certainly the favorite place around my room for my students and I feel comfortable knowing I can see them and help keep them safe and on task.”

Centering Ourselves for Reading
Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you so much for your contribution to our classroom. The day the students walked into the classroom. They were so excited to see the instant change the light covers made and to see their new seating options for while they read.
The students have found our classroom lighting much more relaxing and easier to work in since we put up the light covers. Having a softer blue light instead of the flickering white light has given the room feeling of calm.
The students have also enjoyed the easy of finding their desired books thanks to the book boxes. Finding a book to read used to feel very overwhelming for my students when they would see the many books just on the shelves. Now they are able to search by genre, author, or recommended for their reading level by pulling the correct basket.
Finally, the new seating as been the biggest hit. Before, all we head to sit on in the reading center were some milk crates with cushions on top. But now the students love sitting in the more comfortable seats or on the bigger cushions to enjoy their book selection.
The next project we will be doing is trying to get new shelving to hold our organized book baskets. Thank you again for helping us get our reading center overhaul started!”

Funded Oct 12, 2017My students have been really enjoying our new alternative seating. Many of them are more relaxed and find focusing easier with the extra wiggle room. Every Friday, the students pick a new place to sit so everyone can have an opportunity to experience the different seating arrangements. Many have found that certain types of seats are not for them. Many have found exactly what works best.
My students who most enjoy sitting at the low level seats with the low table, enjoy being able to recline, or sit with their legs outstretched. We recently did a simulation in Social Studies for the students to experience the decision making of early explorers. The when the group who was sitting at the low table were "all on their death bed" from being so sick, the boys all leaned their chairs back and fully acted the part!
My students who enjoy sitting at the rug, find the softness of the rug to be very soothing. Often as they work, I find them petting the rug as they problem-solve through difficult problems. It helps several students who get frustrated easily to not give up.
We had two wiggle stools in our classroom before, and they were always in high demand. Now that our number is up to five, the students who truly utilize them always have one available. Students use the stools for desk work, for working around the room with a partner, and some even bring the stools upfront for work at the board.
It has truly been a joy watching the students get comfortable and re-motivated to do their best work thanks to these seating options.”

Wiggling Toward Sucess
Funded Mar 1, 2017My students were so excited when the boxes arrived with our new bouncy bands and wiggle stools. We spent the first week trading the types of band (desk or chair) and trying out the stools before it finally got settled what works best for whom.
My students have found creative ways to use the bands. Some of the students use them for bouncing with their feet, but a few of the students have pulled it up on their desks and pull it with their hands. They find this very helpful when upset, or frustrated.
We are starting the second part of our state standardized test in just a few more days and the students are grateful to have these bands and stools to help them do their best on the test! Thank you again for helping to fund this project so we could have the materials in time to help the students sit for their tests.”
