Thank you so much for your support of our project to get George Orwell's novel 1984 into the hands of my honors 11th grade students. Never has this novel been more important to study than in our current political times. Hello! My name is Monica Hawk and I am an English teacher at Foundation Collegiate Academy in Trenton, NJ. Our mission is to ensure that all of our students secure the academic knowledge and skills to prepare them for the nation's finest colleges and to instill in them the core values of caring, respect, responsibility, and honesty. My students live in a high-poverty area, but we know with education, they can achieve anything they put their minds to.
