  • Makerspace Equipment

    Funded Sep 6, 2018

I am so grateful for the amount of support we have received. Beyond that I am thrilled to get this makerspace up and running! Learning requires more than just books, kids need to build things, deconstruct things, get messy and have fun in order to access their creativity and be inspired. With tools, space and materials available, our kiddos will have a new opportunity to get excited about learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Teacher Ferber

  • B. Elementary Makers Lab

    Funded Jun 12, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donations. By making a contribution you are showing my students that you believe in them and that you care. You have no idea how much this means. You are making a difference not only for my kiddos but for the society we all share.”

    With gratitude,

    Teacher Ferber

  • Clean-up Crew!

    Funded Jun 4, 2018

Thank you so much for your your generous donation. My kiddos are beyond excited, not only for the materials we will receive, but for the opportunities they will provide. Above all, they appreciate your interest in them. They all beamed with pride when I told them how quickly our first project had been funded. Your belief in them means the world, we can't wait to show you how valuable your donation will be!!”

    With gratitude,

    Teacher Ferber

The benefits of educational makerspaces are many and varied. While they do not come without their challenges, makerspaces can have a significant impact on student learning and development. With all the loads of technology, arts and crafts supplies and other tools in our makerspaces, finding a cohesive way to organize everything is essential. One great thing about a makerspace is that it can be filled with all sorts of materials. One persons waste can become a catalyst for another's creativity. Unfortunately, it is also easy for the space to become a dumping ground, rendering it useless. The key to avoiding this pitfall is organization. With the storage bins we are requesting, I plan to create a highly organized creative space. In this space students will be able to re-purpose materials in order to turn ideas into inventive projects.
