  • Rockin' With Technology!

    Funded May 1, 2018

Thank you so very much for your generous donation to our classroom. The students were thrilled when the packages came and couldn't wait to try it out!

Many of my students do not have access to technology at home and until now I had limited resources in our classroom for them. We now have a Technology Center and the children are able to use these things at least 3 times a week. The headphones allow privacy when using different programs and allows them to focus on the task at hand without distractions.

Elmo's ABC's and Counting With Elmo are two of the favorite programs I have downloaded and I have already seen a difference in some of my students. When learning is fun basic concepts and ideas are easier to retain and recall.

Using technology is crucial to learning and furthering themselves in our world today. Because of you my students are now able to explore how to use an I pad and will have the opportunity to use different programs to help further their learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Litvak

  • Movin' and Groovin' to the Music

    Funded Apr 15, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom. Our old CD player was no longer working and the students were disappointed if they were not able to "move to the music" when we had to stay indoors during inclement weather. Because of your donation they are now able to listen to their favorite songs and dance their hearts away!

We are also using the CD player with headphones and the students are able to listen to different books on CD the correspond with our curriculum. This gives them the opportunity to reread favorite stories while building their language and developing a love for literature.

The blue tooth speaker will be used in our gross motor room and outdoors on our patio, allowing more volume when doing group songs and activities.

Your dedication and commitment to helping my students is much appreciated!”

    Mrs. Litvak

  • Learning and Growing With Sensory Experiences!

    Funded May 1, 2018

I can not begin to thank you enough for your generous contributions to our classroom. The students were so excited when the boxes were delivered to our classroom--it was like Christmas morning! After we opened the boxes and saw what was inside the excitement climbed even more!

Many of my children have sensory needs so these materials have been wonderful. The light table has always been a popular choice, but even more so now that there are sensory beads and items to use with it. It is helpful and calming to the children and is helping them cope with the adjustment to a new school year.

Searching for numbers and letters has been great fun and the students are eager to find these in the sensory beads. They are working together with a partner so not only are these materials helping with literacy and math skills, they are building on the cooperative skills necessary in the classroom.

We will continue to use these materials throughout the year. I am sure they will remain a favorite amongst the students as we progress. It is special people like you who make a difference in the lives of my students and I am thankful and grateful for people such as you! Thank you again!”

  • Building Our Future One Lego at A Time!

    Funded May 1, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom. My students favorite area to play in is the Lego area and many of our pieces were lost and broken. When I told them we were getting new Lego sets they were very excited and everyday asked if their new toys had arrived. When the boxes arrived the children tore into them and wanted to play with them right away.

Many of the Lego items we had were just pieces that I had accumulated over the past few years. They were extremely excited about the sets and soon got busy using the books to copy from the pictures and build the items they saw. They also used the pieces to build their own structures and create masterpieces which uses their thinking, social and engineering skills allowing them to develop and use those STEM skills that are so important in today's world.

It is through the generosity of donors such as you that my students are able to have such wonderful things and be excited about learning and playing. Thank you again for your thoughtfulness and generosity.”

  • Moving and Grooving With Outdoor Play!

    Funded May 1, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom. My students were very excited when I told them we were getting these things, and everyday asked if their new toys had arrived. When the boxes arrived the children tore into them and danced around the room talking about their new things.

We have a patio outside our classroom and the only supplies we had were some cars and sidewalk chalk for them to use there. Thanks to all of our donors the children are now able to enjoy bucket stilts, bean bag toss, bubbles, ring toss, a balance beam and bouncy balls. This makes their outside time more enjoyable and fun.

It is through the generosity of donors such as you that my students are able to have such wonderful things and be excited about learning and playing. Thank you again for your thoughtfulness and generosity.”

  • Learning and Growing With Technology

    Funded Apr 4, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom. My students are excited and eager to learn with the tablet, Osmo and Tiggly toys. When I told them we were getting these things they clapped their hands and cheered. The day the boxes arrived they could not wait to open them and it was like Christmas morning!

Many of my students have never had a tablet and are eager to have a turn on the tablet. It was surprising to see how quickly they learned how to navigate the apps-- and this has now become a classroom center that everyone enjoys. Two of my students did not recognize shapes, but after a week of using the Tiggly app they are beginning to recognize circles and one of them saw a circle in the hallway on the way to lunch and commented "Look Ms. B, it is just like the circle on the tablet!". This has truly made an impact on their learning.

I have downloaded a few other educational apps and my students have a choice on what they want to play each day. These are engaging and my students are excited about picking the app they enjoy when it is their turn on the tablet.

It is because of your generosity that my students have been given this wonderful opportunity to further their learning. Technology is so important to our everyday lives and now my students will be able to experience and learn about this. Thank you so much for making a difference in the lives of my students.”

  • Growing and Learning With STEM

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you so much for your very generous donation to our classroom. When the boxes arrived it was like Christmas morning--the children couldn't wait to help me open them and explore what was inside!

These new resources have been placed in a specific place in the classroom that is our "exploring" area. The children can choose that area during choice time and it is full everyday! In this area they are able to use the STEM materials we have and explore and problem solve how to use these things. I present them with a problem, and they can then work together to figure out how to come up with a solution (example: "I need to move my car quickly to the other side of the carpet, how can I do that without pushing it"--encouraging use of ramps and tracks). This has really helped with peer communication, teamwork and problem solving.

Our new curriculum includes a unit called "Imagine it, Make it" and these resources will fit right in with that unit. We will use these resources daily but during this unit it will be more concentrated and focused on specific things like angles, ramps, height, etc.

Again, your generous contribution is greatly appreciated. It is people like you who are making a difference in the education of our students and the development of our future leaders!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Litvak

  • Exploring STEM in Preschool

    Funded Dec 18, 2017

My students and I would like to thank you for your very generous donation! When the boxes arrived it was like Christmas morning. The students were very excited to open the boxes and when they saw what was inside they were yelling and dancing with joy!

The materials are used daily and are enjoyed by all. We have a new curriculum this year and many of these items tie into this. The unit we are currently working on is "Imagine It, Make It" and these materials are a great resource to allow them to use their imagination and create structures. The level of interaction among the students has increased as they question and challenge each other and it adds such interest, motivation and collaboration between the students!!

Your continued dedication to education and our students is so heartwarming. Thank you for enriching their lives and experiences!! Your generosity will never be forgotten!!”

  • Lighting Up Our Learning

    Funded Nov 3, 2017

Our students would like to say "Thank you" for the awesome materials you generously donated! Many of my students do not have the opportunity to engage in STEM activities and this has provided them an opportunity to do so.

They are able to use the materials we received to explore how light works. We have discussed how different colors and different types of materials react to the light and how it differs. Along with this they are also able to use the blocks we received to build different structures which requires them to use teamwork and figure out different strategies to do so. Learning the alphabet is more appealing when the light table is used and sorting objects has become more appealing when done here.

This has become a favorite center in our classroom and it is exciting to see their reactions and exploration when playing in this area. Children who have never explored building and prefer to play alone have been asking to play with others in this area and are building their social skills along with exploring STEM! Thank you again for your thoughtfulness and generous donation.”
