Social Distance Learning
Funded Aug 4, 2020Teaching this year has been unlike any year we have ever seen. With the safety of our students always on our minds, your project has greatly impacted my students. Due to many of the Covid restrictions, sharing teaching tools and manipulatives was discouraged. But with the plastic bins, I was able to give each student their own set of supplies. These supplies went with them as they travelled to their specials or worked somewhere else within the classroom. Distance requirements made it challenging to work in small groups or assess whole group understanding. The dry erase boards and markers made it possible to check for individual student understanding. Again I can't thank you enough for your generosity!”

Funded Mar 3, 2020I want to thank you for your generosity! Although the school year ended unsuspectingly early last year due to the corona virus, your donation has been a wonderful addition to my classroom this school year! I have a small group of ELL students who are currently reading below grade level. When I introduced them to the alphabet tubs, their eyes lit up with excitement! There are so many objects for them to sort and compare. They enjoy writing the names of the objects and seeing who can match them the quickest! When it's time to put the activity away, I am always met with sighs! Again thank you so much for your donation to my classroom.”

Funded Nov 1, 2019My Students are so grateful to you for your very generous donation! It has been a wonderful incentive for both students who struggle and excel. The students love how user friendly the technology is. Even for my students who do not speak English. My non English speaking children are not intimidated by the technology in fact they welcome it and get so excited when it is their turn to use it.
We have a signup board so students know when it is their turn to use the iPad and OSMO kit. There are several game modes. They love the one that allows them to compete against a classmate the most. Students are able to go to the OSMO virtual library on their own and select specific tasks and download to the iPad.
I want to again thank you so much for this innovative academic tool that I know will be so useful for many years to come.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Michalski

Funded Feb 9, 2017We cannot thank you enough for your generosity and commitment in making a difference in the education of our students. Without donors, we struggle to find the funds needed to help our students succeed in the classroom.
When my students entered the room and saw the reading center chairs, they could not contain their excitement! "These are so cool!" "Can we sit on them now?!" "How did you get these?" "Did these cost one thousand dollars?!" These are just some of the comments. They were quite touched that complete strangers had purchased the chairs. I was further impressed with their immediate concern for keeping them in good condition. Many students made sure to vocalize the importance of treating the chairs with care. We made a set of rules to follow when seated in the reading station.
The first four students that enter the room in the morning, put their book bags and coats up, and go over to the reading corner, get cozy in a chair, and begin to read. This corner is also where students have independent reading during our small group reading rotations. When students finished an assignment, they used to want to do a computer activity. Now, most of the students prefer to sit in the reading corner. I will probably need to set a timer in the corner because they get so consumed with reading, they do not hear me when I say we need to rotate!
We are so grateful and touched by the commitment made from our donor. We are so fortunate to have people in our community and around the nation supporting and maintaining public school success!”

Mrs. Michalski
