  • Surviving Thanks to Great Books!

    Funded Mar 25, 2025

Thank you for your generosity! I am so excited to let my students know that we have these wonderful new books coming into our classroom. They have been waiting on some of these titles for a little while! We appreciate your help in continuing to build our library with new titles. My students are going to be thrilled to unbox these books as they arrive!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. DePrez Campbell

  • Shelving, Stickers, and More

    Funded Mar 25, 2025

Thank you for helping to fund our project Shelving, Stickers, and More! We are excited to have the opportunity to showcase our favorite books, use pattern blocks and stickers in our lessons, and have refills of lead for our pencils. The light covers will help us reduce the negative effects of fluorescent lighting. Thank you for your kindness and generosity!”

  • Critical Thinking Games and Puzzles

    Funded Nov 4, 2024

My students love our new critical thinking activities and games. We try to take about 15 minutes a couple times a month to play a critical thinking game. I have so many different groups and our STEM club group who get to enjoy these games. One favorite of a couple of my students is the Pixel Art Challenge where they get to create art with the colorful cubes. They started out with the pictures, then moved to the numbers, and finally begin to create their own designs. We also have really enjoyed Uzzle and racing to see who can find the design the fastest. It really works on their visual spatial thinking.”

  • Science Experiences Sustain Excitement

    Funded Nov 4, 2024

My students absolutely loved the owl pellets after getting over the eww, gross factor! They had so much fun matching the different bones and skulls to the sheets to see what the owls had eaten. They love being in STEM club and experiencing science activities that we don't always have the time or supplies for in their classrooms. We are waiting on it to warm up to go outside and do our rockets using the alka-seltzer tablets, film canisters and vinegar. We look forward to this activity when STEM club resumes in March.”

  • Cryptid Construction Kits and Stickers

    Funded Nov 4, 2024

Being able to use the Cryptid Construction kits to create their animal hybrids is so helpful because they aren't limited by their artistic skills. It allows them to play around with what they might want their new animal to look like and doesn't take forever to draw then they erase because they didn't like how it went together. This manipulative allows us to extend the lesson because they now have time to explain how the different features of their new animal will be helpful to it. They love the magnets and are so excited about the stickers too!”

  • Necessities for Nurturing Needs

    Funded Sep 18, 2024

My students absolutely love the weighted plushies. Students who are often very quiet will sometimes grab one and then they use the plushie to raise their their hands and I call on the plushie. They also allow a few of my friends to self regulate when they are struggling. By holding the weighted plushie they are able to recenter themselves and get back to work. The noise canceling headphones are a great help to some of our students when there is just too much going on. Several students have their own pair that they keep in their desks in their classrooms. I have a couple pairs that stay in my room for use by anyone when they need some quiet to focus. Often times I have students who want to work alone who will grab a pair to allow them to focus while others work with a partner.”

  • SuperSTEM and StoryWorks Magazines

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

My students love Super STEM and StoryWorks. Both of these magazines have wonderful engaging stories to help my students connect reading with current events. The variety of stories in StoryWorks allows us to practice reading for information and enjoyment at the same time. We love the plays in each magazine, as my students love a good reader's theater play. Thank you for helping to bring these wonderful resources into our classroom. I love having the digital subscription that goes with these because it allows us to use it during remote learning days when we have bad weather.”

  • STEM Club Materials for 24-25

    Funded Aug 15, 2024

My students absolutely loved having these new Chain Reaction STEM Kits, marble maze, 3D printing supplies, and snacks for our STEM club. They worked together to create amazing mazes and chain reactions. They are so excited about the 3D prints and being able to turn them into key chains. We will be working on that when we return from winter break and clubs start up again. I appreciate your help in brining these wonderful things into our afterschool club so that they have the opportunity to experience a variety of activities. You have helped make our club one of the favorites!”

  • Keep Calm and Carry On Learning in 24-25

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

My littlest ones and even some of my oldest ones have absolutely loved having the fidgets, the weighted stuffies, and the noise canceling headphones. Several pairs of the noise canceling headphones now travel with specific students who have the most need for them, but we have 2 pair in our classroom for anyone who needs them to focus. Our room is now prepared for if we someone who needs some tactile input to help calm or focus them. The day after the weighted stuffies arrived one of our students had just returned from being out sick and struggles with changes. The child was able to use the weighted dog to help keep calm while transitioning back into the classroom that morning.”

  • Great New Graphic Novels and Diverse Books for Our Shelves

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

These books fly off our shelves so quickly. I love that they are now more willing to read a non-fiction title with the addition of the graphic novels that are Science Comics and the History Comics. These are great for building background for our students. I have several students who love the addition of more books by or about Asian students specifically those from Pakistan. They were so excited that we had more books where the main character looks like them! I'm always trying to reach my most reluctant readers and your help in providing new books that interest them allows me to help them see how they can be a lifelong reader too!”
