My classroom in in Michigan, just outside of Detroit. Students come to our school from a wide range of backgrounds and school experiences. First Fives is sometimes their first structures school environment. First Fives is designed for children to have another year of development before Kindergarten. These children can have late birthdays, be developmentally young and need the gift of time. Students benefit from classroom instruction designed with more frequent movement, reduced length of instructional periods, increased use of manipulative and motor activities. There is also a huge focus on to social and emotional development.
