  • A Little Spot of Gratitude

    Funded Jun 21, 2022

Thank you so much for your support. My students were excited to receive A Little Spot of Emotions bundles and plushies. As a result, my students are now actively engaged during our social-emotional time.

Most importantly, I've been able to teach my students about dealing with anxiety, anger, teamwork, and trust. They constantly ask me to read more books and the Little Spot plushes help keep them actively engaged in the lesson. These books have allowed my students to be more comfortable discussing their needs and emotions.

Once again, thank you for your support. My students will continue to use these supplies for many years. Social emotional learning has now become an essential part of our day.”

  • Number Ninjas

    Funded Aug 11, 2022

Thank you so much for your support. My students were excited to receive all the materials used to enhance our centers. They have enjoyed using the ten frames during our math centers.

Most importantly, my students now have access to materials they can use during math. The ten frames have made it much easier to teach my students how to solve number bonds. They now get excited to use the ten frames during independent practice. The ten frames' magnetic answer boards have made it easier for my students to follow along during our math talks.

Once again, thank you for your support. My students will continue to use these supplies for many years.”

  • Supplies for Effective Centers

    Funded Apr 20, 2022

Thank you so much for your support. My students were excited to receive all the materials used to enhance our centers.

Most importantly, my students now have whiteboards and markers that they can use for both ELA and Math. The magnetic whiteboards have made our Universal Access time more accessible to my students. They are now able to use magnetic chips to build and blend words. The caddy has also made it so much easier to store our new materials.

Once again, thank you for your support. My students will continue to use these supplies for many years.”

  • Learning Through the Power of the Pen!

    Funded Feb 17, 2020

Thank you for believing in my project. You don't know how much it means to me and my students to have the Power Pens and Cards as a resource for my centers.

They were so excited when they first saw the pens. They couldn't believe that the pens would allow them to check their responses. After a few trials and errors, they quickly mastered how to use the pens at their centers. My students loved using the pens to test their knowledge in addition and subtraction.

We were also able to use the reading comprehension power cards during our small group centers. My students enjoyed using the pens to check their responses and wanted to stay in their centers. I truly appreciate all your help in helping my students thrive in our centers.”

  • Learning On the Go Through Whiteboards and Clipboards

    Funded Aug 8, 2019

    Hello,

Thank you for believing in my project. You don't know how much it means to me and my students to have new whiteboards and clipboards to do our work. My students love using the clipboards to do work in our library or even around the room. They can explore the classroom and find areas that will help them thrive.

The whiteboards have also been very helpful during ELA and Math. My students use them to write down their ideas before transferring them to paper. We have even used them for Eureka math to explore numbers. Thank you very much to everyone who helped make this project come true.

    With appreciation,

  • Dive Into Digital Learning!

    Funded May 13, 2019

    Hello,

I would like to thank each and everyone one of you for your generosity. With your help, I was able to provide technology to my students. The materials in this project have greatly impacted the lives of my students in many ways. For example, my students are now able to access the grade-level curriculum at all hours of the day. They are also able to preview ebooks on Benchmark Universe and take reading quizzes online. With Microsoft Surface Go computers, my students were also able to research careers and create Powerpoint presentations. They were also able to get hands-on experience on other applications such as Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Lexia, and System 44. Once again, I truly appreciate your help.”

  • Supplies for Effective Centers

    Funded Aug 13, 2017

I just wanted to say thank you again for your generosity. My students have been able to accomplish so much with the materials provided. A few of my students who are in need of support of reading skills were able to add new words into their vocabulary. For example, during small group I am able to pull a group of three students to practice sight words. They enjoy taking using the stamps to practice writing sight words. Since using theses stamps my students have been able to identify 15-20 sight words. Another example of how these materials have impacted my students is by increasing technology awareness. My students get multiple opportunities throughout the day to practice using Lexia, typing skills, and fun math facts games. Since using the laptops my students with guidance and support from adults, have been able to use technology to produce and publish writing (using keyboarding skills) as well as to interact and collaborate with others. For example, my students were able to read an informational text about Frida Kahlo and were also able to collaborate with each other to type their writing. Most importantly, they are beginning to grow more familiar with the keyboard and are learning to type and find keys faster. One enjoyable moment I would like to share is when I taught my students how to use the dice in a math center. They were so excited to create their own numbers and to compete with one another. No longer do I have students fussing over working at centers instead, they are filled with joy to be able to learn math and collaborate with their peers.

My students were so ecstatic to see the supplies arrive. They were the happiest when they saw two laptop computers to use in our classroom. No longer do we have to worry about not having the resources available to us. My students are now able to practice their foundational reading skills on Lexia and practice their typing skills. Some students were especially grateful for the stamp sets. They enjoy practicing sight words by using different colored ink pads to stamp. As I mentioned before math centers have become a great hit in our class. They are able to use the dice, laminated game boards, and white board markers to practice skills that have been taught. These centers have also allowed my students to learn to work with each other and build on each Other's ideas.

These materials will continue to help my students grow. Some of my students at this time do not know grade level sight words. Therefore, we will continue to use the stamps to practice stamping out Fry Words. I have multiple lessons planned in which students will use the laptops to research information on different life cycles. They will gather information and type up the information they found. These materials will help my students become college ready but most importantly, help them in meeting their personal goals and IEP goals. My students enjoy using the dice for math activities. I will continue to use the dice sets to have them roll numbers in the thousands through millions place to compare numbers, add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers. With your help I am now able to create beneficial centers for my students in which they are able to practice what they have learned.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Vazquez

Due to having multiple grade levels, my classroom is set up in rotations in order to target their needs. My students often require repetition of skills and interactive hands on tools to retain academic knowledge. The white board markers, stamps, letters, and laminating pouches would be used to laminate graphic organizers in order for my students to practice CVC words, practice basic math concepts, and engage with the material. They would be able to use the foam dices to roll different digits to practice place value. The activities and interactive programs provide different modalities for my students to express their learning. Obtaining the items for this project would tremendously help my students academically by improving the centers we develop in our classroom. The use of technology would help my students dive into digital learning. My students have access to a listening center however the headphones and earphones have started falling apart. With new headphones, they would be able to interact with the program Lexia in our school. Furthermore, two chrome books would help my students gain access to their System 44 accounts in order to take their reading counts quizzes. My students would also be able to use the Chromebook to practice typing skills for Smarter Balance testing. These items are essentials that will help bridge those missing pieces my students need in order to be successful in their grade level.
