Spanish and English Magazines for 1st Grade Dual Language Students!
Funded Feb 7, 2019Thank you so much for your gracious donations. Thanks to you guys, my students now have organizing stations and magazines that have helped us have access to non-fiction text. These texts are in a variety of subjects including real-world issues, geography, technology, and arts.
My students have loved reading the articles, watching the amazing videos and creating some of the hands-on projects that have been inspired by reading the magazine. We are currently reading about endangered animals and different ways that we can help create awareness. Each student has chosen a way to present facts and information about an endangered animal/species/place.
Thank you so much for giving my students access to all the wonderful information these magazines have to offer!”

Our Students Need Flexible Seating Options!!
Funded Dec 31, 2017Class 2-126 would like to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. It was with loud cheers and lots of excitement that we opened up our boxes and started "trying" out our new flexible seating options. I must say that all of our students love the new wobbly chairs and bean bags. Some love to relax in a bean bag during independent reading time, while others prefer a wobbly chair to use while writing or completing math computations. The flexible seating options are used daily by our students, who have learned to use them for more than just fun, they share their refocusing strategies with each other and recommend these chairs as a useful tool. I am very proud to say that they take turns using the chairs and that after the initial excitement, they use them when needed and are happy to take turns if a peer has the need. I hope to have many more seating options in the future as well as a listening center for students who need to have grade-level stories read aloud to them. Once again, a huge thank you from us all in class 2-126!!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Diaz
