The books selected are titles that either never returned since COVID hit, or we just can't keep them on the shelf and need more copies for others to enjoy! There are also titles that kids have found on their own and want to share their joy of reading these books with other students. Getting books into the hands of kids builds empathy, creates compassion and provides opportunities to learn about consequences without having to suffer them in real life. Libraries are magical spaces where students can explore their interests, learn about others, and escape some of the harsh realities they live in. Keeping the library up-to-date with titles students want to read goes a long way in meeting their needs.
