My students need different types of seating because they are all different types of learners! I may have two students in my class that can sit still and up right in a desk and learn. The rest of my students are "wiggly wobbly learners" as they like to call themselves. Picture sixteen little people constantly getting up to get a tissue or to sharpen a pencil because they can't get comfortable in their chair. The other reason for the constant movement is that's they way they learn! They probably will never sit still and that is perfectly okay with me! I just need your help, to help them to reach their full potential! Children learn best when they can focus on what you are teaching them. I'm on a mission to create the best possible environment for learning for my "wiggly wobbly learners'! Each item that we are asking for has a specific purpose for the children in my classroom. The desks in my classroom have been lowered. I took the legs out of them because I realized that my students are more focused when they aren't asked to sit straight up in an uncomfortable chair. The soft seat and giant pillows are for those students who would rather sit criss cross on the floor than on any kind of chair. The wobble chairs are for the student who absolutely cannot sit still, although I don't expect many seven and eight year old to be "still". The movement of the seat will also help with concentration. The students will be more focused on the task at hand instead of fidgeting in their desk. The bean bag chairs are to help with the feeling of "home" or comfort! This project overall will affect each student in my class positively!
