  • Snack Store for PBIS

    Funded Jan 27, 2024

The PBIS store is a hit! The students were so excited to be able to earn these rewards for all of their hard work. The students asked so many questions like "Who gave this to us?", "Where are they from?" and "Do they live in the Bronx?, We want to meet them.". It is such a joy to have this community in the classroom.

Furthermore, the kids are anxiously awaiting to earn points. Today, they shared ways to help around the classroom and show empathy to their peers. These types of conversations are what every teacher dreams of when they think of effective behavioral incentives.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rivera

  • Literacy is Lit

    Funded Jan 19, 2024

Thank you for choosing to give to my classroom. These resources are invaluable to us and will assist in making learning more engaging. Furthermore, the students will feel confident in tackling reading due to the creative ways these items tackle reading instruction. You are amazing; we appreciate all that you've done.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rivera

  • Lit for Literacy!

    Funded Sep 23, 2021

The students have had fun exploring all of the new materials. Thus far, I've used the phonics dominoes and sentence building games. Students have had a great time using these games and have been able to show their learning. Going forward, I will be incorporating the other materials once or twice a week in order to allow students the opportunity to gain more knowledge of needed skills. Furthermore, I plan to reward the students with the poppers as they continue to increase in their reading skills as a form of motivation.”

    With gratitude,

  • Microscopes for Inquiry Based Learning

    Funded Mar 2, 2017

I appreciate all of your support! As this is my first project, I was uncertain that my students would get the tools they need for success. It is because of Individuals like your selves that amazing experiences in education are possible. I cannot wait to share with you all soon.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Rivera

The children would benefit from having microscopes in their classroom. It is crucial that they acquire the skill of microscope usage, so that they are able to perform experiments during instructional periods. For instance, students can develop mastery of investigating cells by viewing slides of various organisms in order to highlight cell organelles. In turn, they are able to be hands-on learners who can articulate and synthesize science concepts. Additionally, the use of microscopes on state testing is essential to academic success. By practicing in the classroom, students will become more relaxed when placed in a testing environment due to high confidence levels. If students are confident during testing, they will be more susceptible to high scores.
