Funded Dec 13, 2022I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have helped my students so much. I wanted to create a fun environment where students can relax, play games, and hang out during indoor recess days. This year has been our first normal school year in years. Our students are wore out and this gives them an opportunity to escape the classroom for just a little bit.
My goal was to create a unique reading area where students could relax and read a cool book. I also purchased board games and legos for students to play. This give them a 30 minute time free from technology each day. Thank you so much for helping create a cool classroom. My students love it!”

Funded Jun 30, 2020Thank you so much for helping out my classroom. Although many things have changed this school year the need for supplies is never changing. I strived to purchase basic supplies for my students every year out of my own pocket, but decided this year to ask my community for help. Each of you stepped up and where such a blessing to me and my students. We had enough supplies to ensure each student in my classroom had their own individual supplies. This helped limit exposure to illnesses. Your donations have truly made an impact on my classroom. Thank you so much for caring and encouraging student growth.”

Funded Aug 21, 2019Thank you so much for your support in our classroom. My students and I are so excited to have all of our new science materials. We are most excited to receive our 4 hydroponics mini labs. Students are so excited to learn about plants and track how they grow in certain conditions.
When our boxes first arrived students were full of questions wanting to know what was in each box. We received a variety of Science and STEM related materials for students to use throughout the school year.
We will continue to learn about new things throughout the school year and incorporate all of our new models. I'm especially excited to use our K' Nex building kits.”

Funded Aug 21, 2019Thank you so much for your generous contributions to my classroom. I wanted to create an area where we could be organized and read for small groups. Most of my order was out of stock. But we were able to get an organizing cube and a variety of science related items.
One thing my students were especially excited about was a variety of culinary herb seeds. Students were so excited to grow an herb garden in our classroom to feed our clasped. Students have learned and discovered so much about plants and what they need to grow. I am very thankful for my organizing cube where I am able to store all of our supplies.”

Funded Aug 21, 2019I love my new bookshelves. I am blessed to have an abundance of books but we didn't have storage for them. Once our bookshelves arrived our miracle worker aka the janitor put them all together for us. My students couldn't wait to start placing our books in the shelves. When the students first saw the bookshelves they were excited and begged to help put them together. I had to make them continue with their classwork.
Over the year I have been blessed by the contributions of my recently passed dad, who always made sure our students had plenty of books to read. Thanks to your generous contribution we now have a beautiful place to store all of our books.
Thank you so much for everything you have done for me and my classroom.”

Funded May 10, 2019Thank you so much for your classroom support we were in desperate need of storage space to store technology and STEM consumables. My students were tired of constantly moving items to reach other items. We can now wheel the shelves out into the middle of the room and students can access whatever they need instantly.
In an ever changing world we want our students to be ready to meet the technology challenges faced each each day. Here at Ghent we encourage students to problem solve using hands on activities each week. We want our students to succeed in a technology based world.
Thank you so much for your support of our classroom support. We greatly appreciated everything you can do.”

Dash and Dot in 5th Grade
Funded Dec 20, 2018Thank you so much for your contribution to our classroom. The students love their new dash and dot. We want to create a technology based curriculum in our school. We can incorporate many subjects using technology. Dash and dot is a great way to incorporate Social Studies and ELA.
Students can create maps, solve reading problems, and simulate tasks with their new dash and dot. While working on activities students are learning to code. Coding is a great tool for students to have and succeed in the future.
Thank You again for all of your support!”

Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you so much for your generous support. My students are so excited for our new books! I wanted higher Lexile level books to meet the needs of all my students. At the end of the 2017-2018 school year my students were in desperate need of a book about kindness, love, and support. Thanks to your generous support we were able to purchase Wonder. This book brought my students together despite their differences.
Reading has changed my life coming from a broken home I could escape into a book to another world. I want my students to be able to enjoy books and enjoy where a book can take them. When I began creating my donors choose project I asked my students what books would they love to read. The #1 book they chose was Harry Potter series. This was a perfect choice for my students. With a variety of Lexile levels in one book I can focus on different chapters for different students. I love books like this that can bring everyone together.
Thank you so much for brightening my students year and bringing them books they truly enjoy. I have been blessed to see the love of reading in my classroom throughout the years. Students who hate reading enjoy the books we have received and it warms my heart.
Thank You,
Teena Lilly”

Funded Nov 20, 2017I just want to start out by saying thank you so much for your support for my classroom. My students love reading novels. I only teach with novels and reading passages, for my students they can connect with characters from the story. Books are an amazing and can take you to places without leaving the classroom.
Currently my students love survival books. We have read Hatcher and My Side of the Mountain. The students loved the books but my girls wanted a book about a girl surviving in the wilderness. Nature Girl with be a great addition to the classroom. Nonfiction text is also a big factor in our standards. The survival books will give a students a great view point on actual skills.
Each day you will see students around the classroom reading and writing. Some students may be laying down, reading, some may be standing up but they are all READING this makes me feel successful knowing my students are working and learning. We strive to meet the needs of all our students. On behalf of my students and myself we thank you for your contribution to our classroom.”
