Leyendo Juntos - (Reading Together) Literacy Night
Funded Sep 18, 2024Thank you so much for your generous support of our literacy night for our TTK-2nd grade students. We just held the event and had over 240 people come to receive free books and make crafts!
We even had some community members here to read to students in small groups.
Because of your commitment to our students, we were able to have each child take home 5 books in Spanish and 5 books in English!
For some of our families, these are the only books that they have in their home. For others, we are adding to their collection. For all, we hope that we are fostering a love of reading and a love of books.
Thank you again for your generous support!”

Funded Oct 27, 2023Our students were so excited to explore with their new magnetic blocks!
They created structures, castles, space ships, cars and many other things as they explored together. Each time that they play with them, they are learning new ways to manipulate them to create even more intricate structures.
These hands on experiences help to provide our students were experiences that they may not otherwise get in a typical general education classroom.
Thank you for supporting our youngest learners with these materials that provide them the opportunity to use their creativity and work cooperatively with their peers.
We will be able to use these resources again and again throughout the year in our classroom. I look forward to seeing what else they will create! Thank you again for donating!!”

Funded Oct 23, 2022Our students were so excited to see that we were able to turn part of our classroom into a forest with the animal puppets and binoculars!
They turned into Forest Rangers for the unit and were so happy to show all of the things that they have been learning about The Cascade Forest and the animals and trees that reside there.
In another part of the classroom they were able to construct and create their own Treehouses with the Imagination Builders you provided with your generous donation.

Learning About Our World Through Play
Funded Sep 3, 2022My students were so excited to play with the Forest Animals and Forest Puzzles! One student asked where we bought them, so that he could tell his mom to get them for his home! They have added to our shared experience as we explore and learn about The Cascade Forest.
These hands on materials have provided the students with experiences that they may not otherwise get to share.
They are able to use the animals with the block area as well as the sensory table. The puzzles have real life photos that add to our learning and reinforce what we are doing in the classroom.
We have developed units about The Cascade Forest and about the animals that live there and these resources, that you helped to provide, have added so much to our units. Our students are engaged and excited about their learning.
As we move throughout the year, our next unit will be about Winter Birds. Some of the animals that were purchased will be able to be used in this future unit as well.
Thank you for helping our youngest learners!”
