Becoming Tech Experts in Fifth Grade!
Funded Apr 10, 2022I am writing to thank you all so VERY much for donating to this project. Your donations allowed me to provide my students with technology in our classroom to use on a daily basis. As fifth graders, more independence is taught and expected, and the use of technology to complete their work and other various tasks definitely helped them achieve this.
One strong example is when my class was working on our informational writing unit. Each student was responsible for doing their own research to compile their writing piece. These laptops were a tremendous help in allowing my students to do this. We do not have individual access to technology in our classrooms, so any little bit most certainly helps.
I cannot thank you all enough for your generous (and SO helpful) donations!”

Ms. Perry
Our Founding Falcons Are Leaving the Nest!
Funded May 7, 2022Just a quick note to say thank you for donating to this project. By doing so, I was able to gift each of my graduating fifth graders a book about middle school before they left our school. It was a very special year, having the FIRST fifth grade and the FIRST graduating class! A majority of this graduating class were a part of the original class that started our school.
When I saw this book - The 47 People You'll Meet in Middle School, I automatically thought of them. A lot of my students had expressed being nervous about starting somewhere and out of their norm. After reading some of this text, I knew this was a great choice for them - a little bit of us to bring with them to feel a little better! So again, THANK YOU for making this possible!!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Perry

Funded Mar 20, 2020This technology was greatly useful this past school year, as I spent a majority of the time teaching remotely. The Osmos proved to be very helpful - as I was able to project tasks and lessons to my students at home from my own kitchen table. The Osmo, along with my iPad, allowed for me to present real time work to my students, especially benefitting my students who are visual learners.
In the future, I look forward to using this product with my students in class during Computer Science periods. I know my students will thoroughly enjoy using the Osmo to learn new ways of coding.”

Funded Dec 3, 2019This project means so much to my students and I right now. We have been practicing different ways of coding and what it looks like in different forms. We have been using our Dashbots since the day they got here, and the kids are having SO much fun doing so. They are learning how to navigate the app to program different codes for their robots, while making them complete different movements and sounds. They are working collaboratively as partnerships and teams to figure out how to work the robot and what they can do with it.
We really appreciate all of your donations to help us get this wonderful project. I am really enjoying giving my students this experience!”

Funded Aug 19, 2019We have officially begun coding in Class 103! The students are SO excited and look forward to the time they get to work using the robots. They have been working independently and with partners to complete coding pathways for their Oz Bots to use. They have been learning the meaning of coding and the importance and use of it.
We allowed the students free range to play around with the different materials to see what they could figure out on their own. Each group was able to put together and figure out how to work each of their stations. They are thoroughly enjoying watching what they are programming come to life.
I am very grateful for your donations to enable my students this opportunity! I hope I have some future engineers in my classroom - and this is definitely the way to find out! Thank you again for your generosity.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Perry
Leading Our Future Through Technology
Funded Jan 19, 2017First off, thank you so much for donating to this project and making it become a reality. My students love these Chromebooks and always look forward to using them daily. They have brought a different style of learning to my classroom for my students who so desperately needed that.
We use the Chromebooks to practice reading and writing skills. I have set my class up on different websites that incorporate listening, speaking, reading, and writing. They are able to work independently and complete different comprehension questions about books. They can work on their own and I can monitor their progress each time on my own account.
It is truly amazing to see how technology savvy all of my students are. They have no problem working a laptop and know the ins and outs of how to make it work for them. They love being able to use technology to read, write and answer questions. This project has been a true joy in my classroom and I thank you all so much for that.”
