Learning with a Laptop
Funded Mar 11, 2011Wow! We are so excited! Because of your generosity and kindness my students and I will receive an amazing HP laptop computer! The HP laptop will be used in class and out of class everyday. I will use it to enter grades, write lesson plans, and search for supplemental material for my students. I will introduce the children to online tools and teach them how to interact with and use technology. I will use the laptop directly with the LCD projector that has been passed down to me from another teacher. By using a laptop I will no longer be forced to take a student computer away from a station to use during instruction. I will use the laptop during reading and math instruction as an enrichment tool. I will also use it to write donors choose grant proposals and to check on my active projects. The students will use it for online access to school approved educational websites and to view online books.
Our school has been facing drastic budget cuts and with out your help, My students and I would have never had the opportunity to receive a laptop. Again thank you for your kindness. Thank you for caring for our students! ”

Funded Mar 1, 2011I cannot tell you how excited I am to know that my students will receive Weekly Readers!!!! Your donations for my Weekly Reader Project will allow for many positive learning experiences to take place with all of the students in my classroom.
Because of your generosity my students will have opportunities to learn about places and things they may otherwise never be able to see. Many of my kindergarten students have not had travel experiences, and many have never left the town where they were born. Having Weekly Readers will also give my students more opportunities for exposure to reading.
For the past four years, I have had to ask parents to purchase Weekly Readers for their children. Every year, there are several who cannot pay. I am left with the remaining cost which is not always an easy sacrifice. It is so comforting to know that this has been taken care of. Thank you so very much for your kindness and generosity!”

Funded Sep 26, 2010Thank you so much for the pencils, markers, and writing supplies that you have funded for my kindergarten classroom. I simply do not know what I would have done without such kind and caring people like you. Budget cuts have really made it impossible to buy very needed supplies. Your giving cards were a very generous donation and are very much appreciated.
Because of these donations my students will now be able to practice and write, write, and write some more. The journals will enable my students to use written language to express thoughts and feelings and respond to literature.
Thank you again for caring for and supporting our children.

A Place For Everyone
Funded Sep 16, 2010I wish each of you could have seen the look on the faces of my kindergarten students when they walked into our classroom and saw our beautiful new rug. They were ecstatic! One of the little girls in my class immediately began to tell us all the many activities we could participate in on this new piece of carpet.
The rug is so bright and cheerful and adds beauty, excitement, and learning to every day. We spend much of our day there. We sit on our rug during our morning routine. We sit on the rug for read-aloud at least three times a day. Some of us sit on the rug during center time, and we sit on the rug to recap our day at the end of each day.
We can now work on letter, color, and shape recognition, and participate in many learning opportunities. Our new rug has also helped to alleviate some allergy and asthma problems. Thank you so much for helping to improve the health of my students and for bringing excitement and learning to our kindergarten classroom.”

Phoneme Phun!!!
Funded Sep 14, 2010I cannot adequately express with words how much your donations to my Phoneme Phun Project mean to my students and me. Thanks so much to those of you who strongly believe in the importance of early literacy.
Your donations toward funding my project have enabled me to flood my classroom with opportunities for my students to explore the sounds of language. These items we have received have helped me to provide a phonemically rich environment.
My students and I are thrilled with our new learning center activities. Because of your support the children are now having hands-on opportunities to develop Phonemic Awareness which will help in their development in learning to read. We are forever grateful! ”

Fishing for Phonics
Funded Apr 22, 2010I cannot begin to tell you all how very grateful I am for your support through donations to my Fishing for Phonics project. My children benefit from the use of these materials daily. With the use of this phonics program, many of my students have learned the joy of reading in Kindergarten. It is such a great feeling as a teacher to see my students so happy and excited about reading.
Without your help and support, my students would not be able to participate in this wonderful program next year. We received no funding for Kindergarten materials this year, and we have been told that next year there will be more cuts. Because of your generosity, I will be able to continue using Saxon Phonics next year.
Thank you so much for your donations that will make such a huge difference in the literacy lives of my students.”

Kindergarten Copycat
Funded Feb 25, 2010Wow!!! What an exciting day it was when we received our new HP Wireless Printer/Copier/Scanner. Your donation to my Copycat Project means so much to my students and me. We are so delighted to be able to use this technology in our classroom. I have been able to use the Printer/Copier/scanner for enrichment activities that motivate and inspire my students' love for learning. Having an HP Wireless Printer/Copier/Scanner in my classroom has allowed me to help my students use technology through creative expression. They have enjoyed working on activities like coloring and cutting out seasonal pictures. We have worked on several writing projects where we were able use copied pictures to color and illustrate our work.
The HP Printer has been used as a hands-on learning tool to teach technology skills. The children have learned to print pictures of themselves, and they have enjoyed writing about themselves for our portfolio.
I am so very thankful to you for your donations because you have made it possible for my students to gain technology experiences that will go with them for a lifetime. ”

Funded Dec 11, 2009My students and I were so excited to hear that my Reading-Round-Up project has been funded. Thanks so much to all of you!!! It is my sincere desire to help my kindergarten students learn to love reading. Many of the children that I teach never have the opportunity to hear or see someone reading at home. Because of your generosity, we have now received a classroom CD and Dual Cassette Player, an 8 Station Junction Box, and some books and CD's. This will allow my students to hear quality literature and listen to a variety of great books daily.
We will use these great items in a Listening Center. These materials will also be used in the morning by my students who arrive early. They can begin their day by listening to a great story. You have given me the opportunity to help my students grow in the development of listening, speaking, reading, and writing by providing these materials.
Thank you so much for caring about the education of our special children. Your donation to my Reading Round-Up project will positively impact the lives of many children for years to come.”

Funded Oct 30, 2009I am so very grateful for the arts and crafts supplies that you purchased for my classroom. The children in my classroom have already enjoyed expressing themselves creatively using the materials. We used foam colored shapes to make pattern necklaces. This hands-on activity really helped my students understand patterning. Also, I was able to assess which children were able to create their own AB, AAB, ABB, or ABC patterns.
Today we used the crayons and feathers to add interest to our hand-traced turkeys. My children have truly enjoyed the collage materials, collage boards, scissors, play-dough, and glue in the Art Center. The Art Center has quickly become one of the favorite centers in our classroom.
Thank you so much for providing these materials. Because of your generosity many children will be able to continue to engage in creative activities that would otherwise not be provided because of a lack of materials in the homes as well as in our school.
I deeply appreciate having you sharing my desire to provide the best for children in need. ”
