  • Printer Ink and Paper Needed!

    Funded Jan 13, 2025

Thank you so very much for purchasing ink and paper for our classroom. We use the computer to print out center games and materials to help the children learn in a fun way. We also print out flyers for the parents to keep them updated on what is happening in the classroom.

The paper is also used in the art and writing center. The students practice writing their names and letters. They also get very creative and draw and paint pictures on the paper. I was very excited to tell the children about the box of paper because now they don't have to be limited to only 2 pieces of paper per day. We were running extremely low before your donation. Once again I am truly appreciative for your generosity.”

    Ms. Rosenberg

  • Please Help Build Our Centers With Educational Materials!

    Funded Aug 19, 2024

The materials that you donated to our class has made such a difference. Everyday the children are using and learning from them. We are currently on our tree unit and the plant slides and plant specimens are in our discovery center. My little 4 year-olds are using hand lens and microscopes to explore them.

During music and movement the children are dancing with the scarves and trying to play their instruments along with the songs being played. We count the beats and also listen for the different sounds. The stacking cups are a huge hit in the math center. The kids are using problem solving techniques to figure out where they go.

I can't thank you enough for your generous donation.”

  • Color Printer for PreK Classes.

    Funded Mar 27, 2024

Having a color printer has made such a difference. The students are now able to have colored pictures that go along with their vocabulary words for each unit of study. The pictures now come alive.

The printer has also made a tremendous difference for me as a teacher as well. I am now able to print the children's assignments as well as letters to the parents any time now.

This school year will be much easier. The children will enjoy learning to use technology to look up things and then be able to print the pictures. I cannot thank you enough for your generous donation.”

  • Laminating Sheets Needed!

    Funded Jan 18, 2024

Thank you again for giving to my project request. In pre-k we have to laminate almost all the sheet material the children use during choice time. This way the paper games will not rip and they will last much longer.

My students look forward to each new unit we do, and the new games that are introduced with the units. I print out different games, for example, measuring and math activities, ABC activities, puzzles, and a lot of pictures that go with the lessons as well as serve as a visual for my students when they are in their centers. We are currently on the Building Unit and in the block center are numerous pictures of different buildings that the children can try to make. All the pictures are laminated which makes the paper stronger and easier to work with. Once again thank you!”

  • Help Us Get Creative and Express Ourselves Through Art!

    Funded Oct 11, 2023

Thank you again for your generous donation. My students were so excited when the boxes of materials were delivered to our classroom. I had already told them that they were getting some fun "presents" from some nice people and that they could use it during choice time.

The children always want to go to the art center now because they LOVE to paint. The paint sticks also help make them a little more independent when doing their work. They don't have to wait for the teacher to prepare the materials. They can now just go over to the shelf and take a piece of paper and the bag of stick paints. I wish that you could see the smiles on their faces as they are doing their work. Please know that you made it possible for my students to bring out their creativity.”

  • Tablets for Independent Reading Time Desperately Needed!

    Funded Jan 29, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donation. The children can't wait for center time and independent reading time because they know that they will be able to read on the tablets. I have seen such a difference in their enthusiasm when it comes to reading as well as their reading levels have gone up. Parents have also commented on how their children look forward to reading now. We have recently started our new writing unit and the children have to write informational pieces about animals. They are using the tablets to do the research. You have made a tremendous impact on their learning. Thank you again!”

  • First Grade Math and Writing Journals Needed!

    Funded Oct 9, 2016

Thank you again for your generous donation. The children absolutely love the word journals and use them for all subjects. They even put math vocabulary words in them so they can refer to it when they do their math journal writing. The student dividers are extremely helpful too. The kids are always asking if they can use them because they think the other students are looking at their paper. It has cut down on a lot of arguing during independent work time. The math journals are used daily and are sometimes also sent home for extra support. These materials would not have been possible without you.”

  • Fire Museum Trip for Second Graders

    Funded Dec 29, 2015

    Dear Donor,

The trip to the NYC Fire Museum was fantastic! All of the children had an amazing time talking to the firemen while learning life saving tips. They are still talking about the fire simulation room. They were put in a room that filled up with "smoke" and they had to crawl their way to the exit using what they learned from the firemen.

The children also were excited to tell that they had conversations with their parents and came up with a meeting place outside of their home in case they had a fire and had to leave.

This trip was fun and educational and it was all because of your generosity.”
