  • Happy and Healthy

    Funded Jan 5, 2022

Thank you for your generous donations! I created this project to keep students healthy and in school. Fortunately, few of my students had to quarantine throughout the school year due to COVID-19 or other illnesses.

My students used the hand sanitizer (or "hanitizer" as they call it 😊) judiciously throughout the year. They are now in the habit of blowing their nose, throwing out the tissue, and then cleaning their hands with "hanitizer" immediately. The soap and paper towels are used after visits to the bathroom. The paper towels and Lysol wipes were used to clean the students' desks consistently throughout the school year.

All items have contributed to keeping the students as healthy as possible and in school thanks to your contribution. Have a wonderful summer!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Flanagan

  • Creating a Culturally Diverse Library

    Funded Dec 15, 2021

Thank you for your generous donation. The students are enjoying our multicultural library. They love to curl up on the rug or on the couch in the library to read.

Students in grades K-3 responded strongly to seeing themselves represented in the stories and illustrations. One Muslim third grader whose family hails from Senegal saw a book with an African character wearing a hijab. She went quietly to a corner of the room to read it. She didn't even finish the book before she smiled, clutched the book to her chest and asked to keep it!

The students chose to create posters to thank you for their new library. I know your donation will continue to bring them great joy in both the library and through read aloud.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Flanagan

  • Cool Curriculum Content With Magazines

    Funded Oct 21, 2021

My students are so excited each month when new magazines arrive! So far, they have learned about animals such as owls, squirrels, and goats. They have learned how important people in American history, such as Bessie Coleman, overcame racism and achieved dreams.

The magazines are used to support the English Language arts, Science, and Social Studies curriculum. They have been used to teach nonfiction text features, locating key details in a text, and holding discussions about author's point of view or a fictional character's point of view.

Thank you again for you generosity!”

  • Two Times The Interaction

    Funded Jan 25, 2021

When I started remote teaching in March 2020, I quickly realized what a challenge it was in many regards. Sharing my screen to teach while attempting to monitor the students was especially challenging. Fortunately, I now have my new monitor, thanks to you!

When showing my students google slides, a video, doing a read aloud on Kindle, or when working on a Nearpod lesson, I am now clearly able to view my students on the large monitor.

I'm looking forward to the rest of the school year and the discovering interesting ways to integrate technology into instruction while teaching remotely. Your gift will help make this possible.

Thank you again for your generous gift!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Flanagan

This classroom project was brought to life by Two Screens for Teachers and 2 other donors.
Two monitors will help me see my students while I am teaching them remotely. It will keep us actively engaged with each other while I share lessons and resources on the screen. I would be able to continue to interact with my students such as answering their questions and seeing their reactions such as visual cues and feedback when I am sharing my screen with them. The two monitors will allow me to share my screen on one monitor and still see my students on the other. Working with two screens will allow me to have different windows and programs open at the same time. This will enhance the remote teaching and learning experience. A second monitor will be a great addition to my remote classroom.
