In my opinion, many of the students in my school have not been meaningfully exposed to many people of different cultures and with different disabilities. They may sit near students who come from different backgrounds, but do not get or take the opportunity to really learn about each other's similarities and differences and how their cultural backgrounds, disabilities, and experiences mold them into who they are. The tablet enabled Chromebooks will allow the students access to a collection of multicultural texts that they can read in bookclubs or independently. While reading, the students can simultaneously research any idea or concept they are unfamiliar with. At the conclusion of the novel, they will use technology's capacities such as Slides, Youtube, etc. to share with the class their learning about a different culture and how it changed them or fostered greater tolerance and appreciation for the differences of others.
