  • Help Me Stand Up to Teaching!

    Thank you so much for your generosity during these times. All of the supplies have been put to great use!

    The name tags gave the student a quick reference for math and reading with the tools printed on them. They are able to be cleaned without damaging them. They loved that they were so bright and clear. They love having their own hooks for so many reasons... from hanging their lunch boxes, to their headphones, to their light jackets. The magnetic boxes allowed them to have their own supplies at their fingertips... (and not on the floor!)

    The Document camera is fantastic... The students were just as excited as I was to see all the capabilities of it. Since so much teaching and learning happens on the smartboard, having a document camera with great capabilities is a must have!

    The paper and labels just make everything easier... important notices stand outand supplies get labeled to keep sharing to a minimum.”

  • Hear Ye, See Ye, Read Ye, Write Ye!

    The students love listening to the books on CD. Their language is improving already. They are sharing facts they have learned and are having a great time sharing opinions about their favorite books. The students are making recommendations to other students about books they should listen to.

    One group each day sits at the listening station and vote on the book they want to read. They listen together and share a few facts they have learned. They have to find the part in the book where they learned something new, maybe a new word, fact or something super interesting.

    English is a second language for many of my students and it is amazing to hear them use so many new vocabulary words, not only from the books on tape but also from the flash cards you funded for us.”

  • Class... Party of 4... Your Table Is Ready!

    Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom! It is so helpful to have a special place to work with kids. Students know when they are over at the table they are in for some good learning. When they walked into the classroom and say the table, the students were so excited. They would ask everyday... "Are you working with my group today?!"

    Our next plan is to ask for some chairs. I didn't realize the table didn't come with chairs. We are making due with the chairs we have in the classroom. I'd also like some new materials to use with the students.

    So keep a look out for class 2-133.”

Right now I have two student desks taped together to make a small group work space. Needless to say, it doesn’t work very well. I need a space where I can work well with my small groups of students and have the space to use different resources and tools helpful in our learning. It would be nice to have a clear, dedicated place where we can work without interrupting the other learning going on in the classroom.

About my class
