Chromebooks are used for so many purposes in our classroom. Students are able to log in to math programs such as ALEKS, FrontRowEd, multiplication.com, Prodigy and other resources. We also use the Chromebooks to practice for our year end exams. This is extremely helpful with our complex core. Some of the new concepts that we work on this year are multiplication, division, fractions, geometry, perimeter, and area. It is imperative that students are able to utilize some of these online programs to experience success in a technology driven world.
Chromebooks are essential to creating 21st century learning in our classroom! We also use our Chromebooks for reading. We use programs such as Imagine Learning and Myon.com, and Spellingcity.com to create the practice and availability of materials to students who may not have access to technology or materials at home. Struggling readers and spellers use these programs to enforce their learning and get the repeated practice needed.
We also use Chromebooks for writing. Students utilize programs such as Utah Compose, Google Classroom, and their Google Drive to type their final writing projects. We also use them to collaborate in research projects. Chromebooks are used for books reports, research projects, and so much more! The goal for this classroom is to eventually have a class set.
