Fall in Love With Reading!
Funded May 15, 2017WOW! Thank you so much for the amazing books you sent my students. I wish that you could have seen their faces when the box arrived. They were so excited to be able to read the amazing story of Auggie in the book "Wonder". We only had one copy of this book originally, and because so many students wanted to read it, I had to read it aloud, but now with a class set of these books, my students can read along with me or read independently at home.
The theme of the book is kindness and what better way is there to demonstrate the act of kindness than receiving these amazing books from kind donors. You have shown my students that acts of kindness can effect people from all different places and that it has a lasting effect. You have also given my students the gift of reading and there is no better gift than that!
Thank you so much for helping my students! You have become a part of our school family now, and every time we read the book we will think of you!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Diaz
Fight The Fidgets
Funded Jan 24, 2017Thank you so much for your kind donation. The students really appreciate the kindness you have shown them and the impact can be felt in my classroom everyday. My students want to learn, but sometimes find it hard to sit still for long periods of time. It's a struggle that they fight with everyday, but your donation has now given them the tools that they need to help them stay focused on tasks.
The fidget friends have been very helpful. The students use them while they are reading, listening to a read aloud, or writing. Just the simple motion of moving an object between their fingers calms them down and helps them focus on the lesson. Every day they come in and go straight to get a fidget friend. It has been great to see them so focused.
The bouncy bands for our chairs have also helped the students. They can now fidget in their chairs without anyone noticing. Just the simple movement of bouncing their feet on the bands allow them to sit for longer periods of time.
Thank you so much for your generous gift and for helping my students!”

Teens Need TOON Graphic Novels
Funded Feb 10, 2017Thank you so much for your gift! What an amazing gift it is to give the gift of reading. The students were so excited when your package came and I wish that you could have seen the smiles on their faces as the opened their books. Graphic novels are very popular among our middle school students and they were so excited to receive a box full of them.
Our classroom library is organized by reading level and many of the books within the library are old and are falling apart. The students have a very hard time finding a good book to read that appeals to them, but with the addition of these amazing graphic novels, the students will have plenty to choose from.
Your gift has shown my students that reading is important in their lives and that books can take them on many adventures. I thank you so much for giving this amazing gift to my students.”

This classroom project was brought to life by TOON Books and one other donor.Nothing Beats A Good Book
Funded Feb 21, 2017Thank you so much for giving my students the gift of reading! What a great gift it is to be able to encourage middle school readers to take an adventure within the pages of a great book. The students were so excited when the package came because our school library is not equipped with current books that they are interested in reading. They were automatically drawn to the covers and were so excited as they were reading the blurbs on the back.
Our library is currently organized according to reading level, however most of the books we have are extremely old and ripped. When the students have time to go to the library they spend a lot time trying to find a book that appeals to them and most of the time they just choose a book because they have to. That all changed the day our package arrived. Right away they started fighting to see who was going to read which book first. As a teacher, it was amazing to see.
So thank you for bringing excitement back into our library and excitement back into our readers. I can not wait to see what adventures await them.”

Mrs. Diaz
