Making Goals and Becoming a Team!
Funded Apr 16, 2024Thank you so much for your generous gift. I wish you could have seen the look on the kid's faces when they received the shin guards, goalie gloves, and new soccer balls. They were shocked and surprised and so so grateful. In the past, they were unable to compete in soccer matches because they did not have the proper gear, but now they are equipped and ready to go! And guess what? They won their first soccer game ever! Yes, you read that right. Can you imagine the joy the team felt?
So again, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for bringing joy to my students. I would like to especially thank Mission Tiger for matching every gift donated. Not only did you give them the gift of soccer, but you also showed them that there are people in this world who are kind and generous and care about them and that is worth more than anything.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Diaz

Funded Sep 25, 2020Thank you so much for helping my students receive the gift of the book "One Crazy Summer." This has been one crazy year, filled with uncertainty, but one thing that my students can count on is being able to read a good book! And that is all thanks to you!
"One Crazy Summer" is a historical fiction story about family who visit their mother in California during the 1968. Through the story, the three sisters end up having many adventures that teach them about their family and their culture. They even attend a camp that is run by the Black Panthers! My students loved hearing about the journey that this family takes, but at the same time, they were able to learn about their own cultures.
In our classroom, we have a class library that the students can take books out off. I try very hard to make sure that our library is full with books that the students would like to read. This also includes books that they can relate too. "One Crazy Summer," was a book that we could read as a class. It was funny and enjoyable and it also taught my students about what life was like for African Americans during the 60's.
There is no greater gift than the gift of reading! So again I thank you for supporting my class and my students!”

Can You Hear Me Now?
Funded Mar 22, 2020I can't thank you enough for the generous gift of these headphones! Especially now, these headphones have come in handy and helped the students out greatly! We use the headphones when taking our assessments online because the program we use often gives the students verbal directions. But since the COVID-19 outbreak, we have also been using the headphones to help our students listen to books on tape.
What is exciting about having these amazing headphones is there are now enough for everyone to get their own! Again, this is so important, especially during this time. Now we do not have to share and each student can keep their headphones in their desk.
We can not thank you enough for helping us out and making sure that my students have the tools that they need to succeed!”

Multi-Cultural Readers Need Books!
Funded Nov 22, 2019Thank you so much for gifting us a class set of the book A Long Walk To Water. You have no idea how much our class appreciates having a book that everyone can read. Before this, we only had one copy of the book and it was making it very hard for us to really enjoy the story. Now we are able to read the great tale of a boy named Salva who is thrown into a situation where everything seems hopeless. Through the story, we are able to learn about the civil war in Sudan and South Sudan and how it impacted the people who lived there. We are also able to understand the hardships that some people have to go through just to survive.
Your gift has also shown my students that there are people in the world who care about their education. There is no greater gift than the gift of reading and you have given that to my students!”

Mrs. Diaz
Send it to the Printer!
Funded Jan 30, 2018I can not thank you enough for funding our project. We have been in desperate need of a printer all school year and we were so incredible happy when we heard our project had been funded. Previously, the students would have to send me their published writing through their email addresses and I would have to print their writing out at home on my home printer, but now the students can print their writing as soon as it is ready. I wish that you could see their faces as they see their working coming out of our new printer. They are so excited to see their hard work being published.
I also want to thank you for showing my students that there are people in this world who care about them and want them to succeed. This is so important for my students to see. So very often they are forgotten and do not receive the tools they need to be successful, but your kindness showed them that someone does care and I can not thank you enough!”

Color Me Happy
Funded Feb 3, 2018Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You have no idea how amazing it is to finally have art supplies for our art club! The students are so excited to finally be able to use the art supplies to create beautiful pieces of art. The art pencils and colored pencils are a big hit and the students are constantly using them. The sketch pads have become a part of the students! They carry them everywhere they go! The amazing pieces of artwork that they have created in them are absolutely breath taking. And the portfolios, were just what we needed to keep our artwork safe.
Thank you so much for giving my students the tools that they needed to start their art club and nurture their love of art. The arts programs are always the first to be cut in our schools, so it is so nice to be able to offer art back to my students, because of you! Thanks again!”

Reading in Really Rad Spaces
Funded Dec 23, 2017Thank you so much for donating to my project. My students absolutely love the new reading bench that we have gotten. It makes our library so much more inviting and the kids can not wait to sit on it and read a good book. I would also like to thank you for the book bins that you also donated. The bins are so great because they are clear and big and the kids can see what books are in them. All of this makes for a fun reading experience in the classroom.
Thank you for also showing my students that their are good people in this world who want to see them succeed. My students now know that a little bit of kindness goes a long way!”

Mrs. Diaz
We Are Mighty, Like Freak the Mighty!
Funded Oct 22, 2017When I first started teaching English Language Arts, I was given a few baskets of books to set up my classroom library. As I was going through the books and sorting them, I quickly realized that I was given the books that no other class wanted. These books were old and torn and I thought to myself how am I going to motivate and inspire my children to love reading if this is what I am given. I knew I had to do something quick!
Today my classroom library is an inviting space filled with books that my students can not wait to read. Some books do not even make it to the shelves because they have a waiting list! Freak the Mighty is one of those books. This book is an amazing story about two kids who do not fit in at their school because of their special needs, and that is something that my students can relate to.
Thank you so much for you support and love for my class and students. I can not thank you enough for giving my students the gift of reading and motivating them to open a book. Reading is a gift that keeps on giving and I can not thank you enough for giving this gift to my students!”
With gratitude,

Books for Book Clubs
Funded Sep 17, 2017I wish that you could have seen the look on my student's faces when the books they so desperately wanted for book clubs arrived. They are so excited to dive right in and start reading. Your gift has shown my students how important the gift of reading and learning is and to see my students excited about reading is a teacher's dream! There is no greater gift than the gift of reading!
Thank you so much for supporting my class and my students. We really appreciated your kindness and thoughtfulness!”

Fun Flexible Seating
Funded May 15, 2017Thank you so much for donating to my class. My students absolutely love the flexible seating that you provided to our classroom. By having the different seating options and the standing stations, my students now have options to help them stay on task. It is amazing to watch them feel comfortable within the classroom and be able to learn in an environment that fits their needs.
Not only have you given my classroom an amazing gift, but you have also showed my students that there is still kindness in the world. You have shown my students, that in a world that is filled with all different kinds of people, there is someone who cares about them and wants the best for them and that is the best gift of all.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Diaz
