These materials are imperative for our students’ success. Our school is all about college-readiness. They will be expected to know how to use these calculators in college and it is our goal to have each student be. It’s a disservice to our students to not be able to fully prepare them for basic college expectations. To help prepare students to enter a technology oriented world, we must expose them to graphing calculators and how math relates to technology. If our students were in a district that was more affluent, parents would provide individual calculators for their children. Our students’ families are unable to do this and it is up to us to provide calculators to our students. Help us to even the playing field between our students and their more affluent peers in New York City by providing funding for graphing calculators in our math classrooms.
