My alternative high school students come to school with a multitude of outside distractions. Getting them to stay focused and engage in fun, realistic learning opportunities is what I love most about teaching science. Microscopes take the animated images in their textbooks to the next level. My students are always surprised at what they see through the lens of a microscope. Not only will they master the proper usage of dependable lab equipment such as a microscope, but they also learn how to work with others in a positive learning environment. Hands-on activities such as these help students retain knowledge that they learn in biology!
