It is difficult and expensive to get art supplies to our remote city, which is only accessible by boat or plane, during a normal school year. A fee or scholarship is required for art supplies as the school budget is not enough to cover a normal year's art supplies. Pandemic school closure highlighted the massive need for basic art supplies at home. During the closure art assignments utilized recycled or found objects because students lacked basic art supplies. Through a survey it was found inequitable to require lessons that were based around basic art supplies. With a Pandemic Art Kit students will have access to a sketchbook, watercolors, sharpener, and colored pencils. This will be the start of their art kit and the ability for all students to have access to creating art.
