  • Create-A-Chain Reaction with STEM Concepts

    Funded May 12, 2024

My students love this hands-on approach to STEM because it is essential for students to replicate the designs of the world around them. They have already designed an airplane; next, they will create their own bed. To make engineering more fun, the students are happy as they build their own fairy tale houses. Using fairy tales to help my students discover their love of engineering. They were so excited because it is so much fun to use their imaginations to create their own fairytales because it is almost like they are in the story.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Perez

  • Give the Gift of Reading

    Funded Apr 2, 2024

My students are innately clever, and these fun phonetic tools will help them learn phonics, sounds, and spelling in the classroom. This is more fun, and it helps them more than just working on the whiteboard like they would before. They want to do it because they still get to play and enjoy themselves.

With the paddles, I help them practice their words. These tools are all phonics-based, so instead of just memorizing the words, they sound out the words with the help of these newly acquired tools. My students were so excited to see the materials, and we cannot wait to see how they learn and grow with these tools.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Perez

  • Engaging Calming Corner

    Funded Feb 23, 2023

Thank you for my calming area. The books, the soft pillows, the bean bag, the stress-relief balls, the plastic baskets, and the sensory shapes all help my students feel loved and supported in my classroom. Sensory items allow my students to feel at peace with the shapes, textured balls, and liquid-filled windows. The calming area is a perfect place for my students to wind down after a long and playful day. Thank you for your generosity. You are making so many students so happy with your donation.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Perez

  • Makin Math

    Funded Aug 9, 2022

I would like to take the time to thank you for your help in bringing math tools to my students. There are many projects that you could have donated to, but ours caught your attention. My little learners are ready to learn, however, they need a lot of hands-on materials to help them. You recognized this and made a thoughtful and generous decision to help make this happen. I truly appreciate you and your generosity. My students were excited beyond words the first time that they were introduced to these math tools. My students know they are learning, and they are having so much fun with them. I look forward to what curiosities these math tools unleash in my class.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Perez

  • Paula's Quest

    Funded Aug 11, 2020

Words can not describe my gratefulness and joy because of your generous and thoughtful donations. I do not know what I would do without your benevolent contributions. My current students are so grateful and so will my future students from years to come even when we are not zooming anymore. The document reader is helping me project my teachings, so the students can see it better and clearer. The webcam is helping with having a bigger home classroom by allowing me to project more whiteboards which helps save time and makes it easier to transition. Without these electronics, it would be incredibly difficult for me and my students to obtain the knowledge needed. Again, I am so appreciative of this benefaction.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Perez

The document camera will help present the lesson to my young first grade students. During remote learning my students will continue to enjoy read aloud time. Every book can become a big book with a document camera. I can zoom and emphasize certain texts or pictures. I can also project the image onto a white board and highlight or underline text by drawing on the whiteboard. I will also use the document camera as a science tool. I can magnify bugs, examine rocks, or even look through a microscope. Even after returning to the physical classroom I can continue to use the document reader for science class. During math I would project graphs on the white board. I can make math fun by showing grouping, adding, and subtracting using cubes or another manipulative. The document camera allows zooming in on such items as a calculator or ruler to show inches. All the traditional math tools can be viewed in detail with a document camera. In addition, I can project handwriting lines to practice not only handwriting, but also writing conventions. It's useful to project a student's work sheet and highlight important areas.
