  • Digital Microscopes to Excite Natural Inquiry and STEM Learning

    Funded Nov 9, 2023

Thank you so much for funding this project. These microscopes will be used by all our 4th grades students and make such a huge impact on student learning! I know the students will love using them and find all kinds of ways to use them aside from the projects we do as a class.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Deardeuff

This classroom project was brought to life by General Motors & Young Sheldon on CBS and 8 other donors.
  • Listen to Love Reading!

    Funded Jan 23, 2022

Yay! Thank you so much! My kids will LOVE these and I can think of several students who will try audiobooks that will help them find the love of reading I want to teach my students to have. I'm so excited to see what books they choose to listen to!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Deardeuff

This classroom project was brought to life by Utah State Board of Education.
  • Today a Reader, Tomorrow a Leader!

    Funded Mar 5, 2021

My students loved the books that you bought them and they are still enjoying them today.

I constantly have students at my classroom library checking out the new graphic novels and biographies. The biographies were able to help my students when they completed a biography project.

A lot of students had no interest in learning history or about historical figures until I was able to purchase these books for them. A lot of my students who felt like reading wasn't cool were also able to find a book they loved in our new graphic novel section.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Deardeuff

  • Writing Ideas Workshop

    Funded Nov 13, 2018

Thank you so much for your generosity! My students were THRILLED to open up the boxes and see such fun items that we were able to purchase because of your kind donations. We've had a chance to use all the materials and the students have enjoyed them and (even better) they are working how I hoped they would!

I have set up six different stations in my classroom; a Lego station, a Play-Doh station, a Story Cube station, a music station, a "game station (this is where the mad libs game and the story starter games are) and a station with blank paper. The students were able to play with the games, legos, play-doh or draw or listen to music and use those play times to use their imagination and generate ideas for their writing.

I've noticed a considerable improvement in my students' desire to write because of the ideas that they have been able to come up with after using their imagination at the stations we have in our classroom. My hope is that the students will now know the expectations at these stations and can go use the materials any time they feel "stuck" and not sure what to write.

We truly appreciate the opportunity that your donations have provided for our classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Deardeuff

This classroom project was brought to life by Wells Fargo and 5 other donors.
The last few years more and more students are coming to me without any idea of how to use their imagination, write creatively or think outside the box. I would like to start an Idea Workshop, where the students are given materials they can use to get their imaginations working again and have fun writing. If they can learn to enjoy writing again they will write more often and will be able to learn how to use correct grammar, spelling, punctuation and how to think creatively in an exciting way and retain the information they learn for longer periods of time. To help the students have this opportunity I would like to purchase items for various "idea producing" stations. Playdoh, legos, music, story dice, story prompts and mad libs can provide a fun way for the students to make up stories and realize how creative they really CAN be. My hope is that the stories they make up at these stations can inspire them to become better writers.
