  • Fueling Bright Minds: Healthy Snacks and Water!

    Funded Mar 14, 2025

Thank you so much for your generous donations of healthy snacks and water for our kindergarten classroom! Your kindness and support mean the world to us, and your contributions help keep our little learners energized and ready to grow each day. We truly appreciate your generosity and interest in our classroom—it makes a big difference in our students’ lives.”

    Ms. McGrath

  • Building a Foundation for Learning Through Play!

    Funded Dec 31, 2024

I am excited to share the incredible impact your generous donations have had on my kindergarten special education classroom. Thanks to your support, we've been able to incorporate a variety of sensory materials into our daily learning routines, and the results have been nothing short of amazing.

When my students first saw the sensory materials, their faces lit up with excitement. The bright colors, textures, and interactive elements immediately captured their attention. For many of my students, these materials were not just toys; they were tools that helped them focus, calm down, and engage in their learning like never before. The sensory fidgets, tactile mats, and calming putties have provided a much-needed outlet for sensory needs, allowing my students to regulate themselves and remain engaged in their lessons.

One of the most powerful moments came during our literacy lessons. One of my students, who had often struggled with staying in his seat, was able to use a squishy ball of play doh while practicing letter writing. This small adjustment made a world of difference—he was able to focus on the task at hand without becoming overwhelmed. He proudly showed me his completed letters at the end of the session, and I saw a level of pride and accomplishment I hadn't seen before.

The sensory materials have also become an integral part of our daily classroom routines. For example, we've used them during group activities to help students stay calm and centered. During our morning circle time, students use textured mats or quiet squeeze toys, which allow them to feel grounded and participate in the discussion. These tools have helped create a safe, inclusive, and supportive space for every child.

Looking ahead, we're excited to continue building on the foundation you've helped us create. Right now, we're beginning a project on social-emotional learning, where the sensory materials will play a critical role in helping students navigate their feelings and reactions. For instance, we are starting a "feelings journal" where students will use different sensory items to reflect on their emotions—whether it's a soft ball to squeeze when they're feeling anxious or a calming texture to rub when they need a moment of focus. These resources will empower them to better express themselves and develop emotional regulation skills.

Thank you again for making this all possible. Your support has had an undeniable impact on my students' daily learning experiences. It's because of you that they have a safe and welcoming environment where they can thrive, grow, and feel understood.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. McGrath
