Read! Read! Read About Me!
Funded Sep 13, 2021Reading has always been an essential foundation for students of all ages. I would like to say that because of this amazing opportunity, my students have the opportunity to learn through reading and this allows them to visit multiple places in the world and in time.
My students have even started their own literature circles with other peers in the classroom. Several of my students have become part of a program that deals with reading to our kindergarten students! What an impact that has happened with the students just because of a book.
Testing has also been impacted because students are having fun reading and it shows on their district tests. Thanks again for your support.”

Funded Nov 29, 2021Thank you for your support in donating to my classroom. My students are the seniors at our school and they are role models for the younger students. Staying clean shows the other students that this is important. Because of the donation, my students are happier students.
My students' first reaction was, "Where did this come from?" They just couldn't believe that someone cared enough about them to donate these amazing items.
The students have created monitors for the boys and girls so that the materials will be used properly.
Thank you again for your support.”

Funded Feb 9, 2022Because of your amazing donor, Black History Month Partners, my students have been able to put themselves in the place of the authors and characters. They seem more interested in reading information with more chapters and more complex characters.
My students have even decided to write and illustrate their own class story. They are really excited to become authors! We have ordered the materials to create their own books and the materials will be here soon.
The interest in writing their own stories has gotten them more involved with the writing process and all of its components.
Thanks again for your continued support for our young writers.”

Funded Nov 15, 2020Thanks so much for the awesome reading materials provided to my scholars. My kids are able to read about characters who look like them and that they can relate to in a personal manner.
Through reading these texts, my students are transformed to another era and see what it was like during their time. My students can take the books to their seat or read with a partner. Although most of my students find the books interesting and full of information, my girls are really interested in the books about science.
I have several future doctors, lawyers, researchers and teachers in my classroom. My student get the opportunity to read to each other about subjects that interest them towards their future endeavors.
Great readers always support other great readers....
Thanks again for your support.”

Future Writers
Funded Jul 31, 2021Thanks so much for your gracious offering to fund our classroom of Future writers! Upon receiving the materials, my students were excited about being able to see the correct procedures in writing. They are now becoming better writers. My students are able to see misspelled words in the folder and correct them on their paper. The writing folder shows the students possible writing topics, overused words and misspelled words.
The most important part of this writing folder is to show the students the actual writing process that they have to follow to become successful! Writing has become fun and my students are showing mastery in their writing.
Our next step is for my students to create a storybook about their time in 5th grade. They are excited about becoming authors. Thanks again for your support.”

Funded May 20, 2020Thanks so much for the writing materials. Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, my students have to show me their writing virtually. It's different, but they are very excited about writing! The resources allow students to see their writing change daily.
My kids are able to write and critique their writing. This allows them to see their growth in writing.
They are getting a chance to be creative by writing poetry and narratives that interest them. They research new ideas in writing and share with their peers.
Thanks again for the daily writing journals. Future authors in the making!”

Funded Mar 20, 2019One goal of the National Council for the Teachers of Mathematics Standards is to build students' confidence with mathematics by using math manipulatives other than just pencil and paper . If students have physical evidence of how their thinking works, their understanding is more robust.
Just as architects construct models of buildings, engineers build prototypes of equipment, and doctors use computers to predict the impact of medical procedures, by allowing my students access to these math resources has enhanced their learning process and their appreciation towards individual understanding of math concepts.
The use of these resources has helped my students hone their mathematical thinking skills. My students have been able to connect ideas and integrate their knowledge and have gained a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts.
By using these resources, my students are were more active, engaged and interested in lessons than when manipulatives were not used. Also, good behavior and enjoyment seems to have improved especially during small groups. Thanks again for your generosity.”

Seating for Success!
Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you so much for the awesome red seats that you have provided for my students! Now, they are able to research comfortably and enjoy learning. Although someone may see seating as something small, I know that my kids are happier and more eager to learn and the seating has certainly assisted.
My students find it difficult to choose who will sit in the seats at any given time, but they are learning patience and they are also very thankful to have such sturdy seating in our classroom.
Thanks again for deciding to help my class. We are truly grateful!”

Funded Jul 17, 2017Words can't express how this awesome gift of technology has enabled my Future Technology Leaders to be successful in our classroom! With these 3 new Chromebooks, my students are able to do research instantly and not have to wait for another class to finish using shared Chromebooks at our school. They have shown more interests in researching and learning new things.
My students get excited when we read about something new! They know that they have to take turns to use the 3 Chromebooks that we have acquired from you all, but they are willing to work together and wait their turn.
Because I have students who do not have access to technology in their homes, it is extremely important that these students are successful and they are first to complete their research. The students who do have technology at home have been very supportive when allowing their classmates to use the Chromebooks first.
Lastly, my students' achievement scores have definitely improved since receiving the Chromebooks! I am so excited and so proud of them. Your gift means more to our class than you will ever know.
Again, thanks so much for your generosity and we will continue to excel in the future.”
