I am requesting these materials to provide my students with a variety of opportunities to design and develop structures and help further develop their imaginations and creativity. Our students come needing more options to explore and design on their own. Students will work together to solve problems, develop their creativity, and collaborate with each other to design projects using a variety of materials. Students will build with Soft Unit Blocks, Legos, Strawbees, HABA Tap and Tack, and create marble runs along with using hand tools. These materials will help facilitate experiences for students to create and make a variety of items that will help bridge science and engineering concepts, along with developing their problem solving and team building skills. The soft blocks provide a safe and quiet form of building which helps students hold their concentration. In Montessori, it is important for students to not be interrupted while working. The table will help students create and maintain their projects and allow for others to add onto ideas.
