  • Wireless Technology Accessories for Use With Our New Smartboards

    Funded May 12, 2023

Thank you for the wireless tablet and keyboards. Your graciousness has enabled our students to complete their online learning exercises from any location in the classroom. The devices integrate very well with our new Promethean Titanium smartboards.

Our online math assignments are very animated and keep our students engaged while they are actively learning key math concepts. Hence, technology is an integral part of our learning environment. The wireless keyboards help students and teachers ensure learning is occurring from any location in the classroom. The wireless writing tablet also allows the teacher and their students to work out math problems from their desks.”

  • We Need Storage Bins and Bags for Our Math Manipulatives.

    Funded Aug 28, 2022

We are very grateful for your donations towards the purchase of additional storage bins. We are able to safely, and conveniently, organize our math games and manipulatives. Our math classrooms are well organized since we categorized the items according to our new learning stations. Additionally, we can quickly access these math resources at the start of each math topic. We were fortunate to receive new math supplies this year so these storage bins were a perfect addition to store all of the classroom sets. Thanks again for your donation!”

  • Mathematics Dry Erase Boards and Markers

    Funded Nov 20, 2021

Thanks for your generous donations. Our kindergarten and first grade scholars have used the dry erase boards and markers to demonstrate their conceptual understanding of the ten frame. Using blue and red markers, the students are able to demonstrate addition and subtraction computations by color coding putting together and taking away.

Additionally, the dry erase markers and boards help teachers quickly check for understanding of the daily learning targets. During small group instruction, teachers provide one-to-one assistance to those who are struggling with the lesson. The number line and bar model dry erase boards allow students to model fractions. They are able to keep erasing until they have mastered the concept.

Thanks again for supporting the primary students at Lillie C. Evans K-8 Center. It is greatly appreciated by both students and staff.”

  • STEM Lab Resources for Higher-Order Thinking

    Funded Nov 5, 2021

Thanks for your generous donations. Our young scholars are utilizing these resources to build a solid foundation in science, mathematics, engineering and technology concepts. They are completing hands-on STEM experiments with the science resource books. Our middle school students completed the rollercoaster project which reinforced the concepts of potential and kinetic energy. The joy and intrigue on their young faces as they experientially learn concepts from the book alive is a pleasure to watch.

Our young scholars students are using the headphones to successfully complete and share their real-world STEM activities online. They also complete Gizmos projects online.

The STEM posters help to reinforce the aspects of each STEM component.

Again, please know that your donations are soooooo much appreciated!”

  • Hands-on Math Kits and Supplies

    Funded Oct 31, 2021

I am so grateful for your donations towards the purchase of math manipulatives and other classroom supplies. These math manipulatives are critical to build students' conceptual knowledge. We have noticed our students are performing better on their math assessments.

Our math learning stations are well stocked, thanks to your donations. Our math classrooms include a differentiated instruction block during which students select assignments across various domains. These stations are rotational in nature and students work on a particular domain at each stop.

The dry erase markers and boards help teachers to quickly check for understanding of the daily learning targets. Currently, teachers are teaching the coordinate plane and measurement such as area and perimeter. The colored pencils are used for graphing and self-grading of their math problems. We are grateful beyond measure for your generosity.”

  • Math Class Supplies and Small Group Activites

    Funded Oct 14, 2021

Thanks so much for your donations. We use these math workbooks for small group activities. We also have math stations that include a math games and fluency center. The interactive math activities books provide materials for our math games/fluency centers. The Intervention workbooks are used during the teacher led center. Students receive assistance with the most essential math skills.

Our kindergarten, first grade and second grade students are developing their math computation skills using addition and subtraction timed tests. Our third, fourth and fifth grade students continue to develop their math fact fluency using multiplication and division timed tests.

    Thanks again for your donations.”

  • We Need Storage Bins for Our Math Manipulatives

    Funded Feb 9, 2022

Thanks so much for your donations towards the purchase of storage bins for our math manipulatives. Our classrooms looks so neat and tidy. Organization is an important component of a well-run classroom. We have increased efficiency with the preparation and storage of our math manipulatives in one place. Students can quickly access hands-on math manipulatives and resources prior to each lesson. These storage bins are the right size to store all of the classroom sets. They are the perfect addition to our class. Thanks again for your donation!”

  • Snacks for Middle Grades After-School Program

    Funded Jan 26, 2022

Thanks so much for funding this project of snacks and treats for our Middle School students who participate in the afterschool enrichment program. After school is released, students report to the physical education field to enjoy a snack. They also have the option to take them home.

Please know that we are grateful for these treats to quell any hunger our students may have after the school day ends or before supper. We want them to focus on their fitness journey with full energy. Thanks again for your generous donation.”

  • Gym & Fitness For Our Middle Schoolers

    Funded Nov 28, 2021

Thanks for so much for your generous donation to our school's afterschool enrichment program. The kids were so excited to open the boxes and start using the sports and fitness equipment. Now we have a variety of outdoor workout games incorporated into our program like hopscotch, bean bag/ring toss, table top tennis, table top air hockey and cornhole toss. Some of the students use the resistance bands and yoga mats for exercise routines.

This project gives the students a range of fitness activities to do during the three hours of afterschool sports enrichment. The barcode scanner is used to track attendance and dismissal. The lanyards, along with program identification badges, provide a layer of security. We are forever grateful for your much needed donations for the purchase of fitness resources for the students at Lillie C. Evans K-8 Center.”

  • Math Posters to Anchor Students' Thinking

    Funded Oct 19, 2021

We are so grateful for these math posters. We are using them to mitigate learning loss caused by the pandemic. They are so vivid, concise and assist us in creating a mathematically rich classroom environment. The math posters are used during whole group instruction as an explicit instruction teaching aid. Additionally, during small-group instruction, the posters help struggling learners with scaffolding critical math concepts.

Many of our students need quick refreshers of previous grade level topics. Anchor charts provide a handy outline to teach these grade level topics. Students can refer to the posters as they complete assignments. Thanks again for your generous donations!”

As the math coach at my school, one of my roles is to ensure that our classes provide a mathematically rich environment. One of the top priorities for this school year is to differentiate instruction to meet the learning needs of all of our scholars. In the mathematics classrooms at our school, students will rotate through differentiated math stations as they seek to master the common core math curriculum. The math stations will consist of a technology center, a math games center, a teacher led center to provide small group assistance will the most challenging content, and a fluency/enrichment center. To assist with rotating through the stations, the timers will cue students to move to the next station. The laminating machine will enable teachers to label the different stations and materials storage unit. Students will also use the laminating machine for their collaborative projects. Our students also need to develop their interpersonal and higher-order thinking skills. The math games will enable each of our math classes to create a math games station to promote higher order thinking while mastering the math curriculum. All of these resources will help close the gap by providing hands-on learning opportunities.
