  • We Like to Move It!!

    Funded Jan 4, 2019

I wish you could have seen the excitement on my students faces when we relieved our new wiggle stools! They were beyond excited! I asked the class why they liked them so much and they said that it helps get their wiggles out and helps us stay focused. It was cute to hear their reasons because mine are the exact same. The wiggle stools are not distracting to my teaching. They really allow the students to move without being disruptive. I have seen a big improvement in overall focus in my class! We are so thankful!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Paulsen

  • Teaching in Color

    Funded Jan 4, 2019

We have been absolutely loving our color printer. I have been able to make some really fun hands on learning centers with it! We laminate them so that they can last for many years to come! Some of the centers I have made are place value cupcakes, addition and subtraction puzzles, vowel team centers, and many more. We use these centers every week when we are learning new concepts. For example when I am teaching compound words I find a fun learning center to go with my word work station and I have a fun activity for the kids. Before I only had a black and white printer and it was just not that exciting for the kids. They love the color so much more and they seem to be more engaged when it is cute and something they like!

We cannot thank you enough for being so kind and caring!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Paulsen

  • We Like to Move It!

    Funded Oct 2, 2018

My students and I are so grateful for the wiggle stools! They were so eager to open up the boxes and use them! You better believe the second I put them together they were taking turns and trying them out! We have only had them for a few days and am already noticing a big difference in certain kids who are using them. They seem to be able to stay focused longer than normal!

I have been trying for a few years to get these so you have no idea how much you made my day by your generous donation. They will be used for many years and I am excited to see the positive change they create in my room!

I cannot thank you enough for your generous donation I will be forever grateful!”

  • Readers for Life!

    Funded Sep 12, 2018

My students and I are so grateful that you have donated to our class! My students were so excited when the reading games came and they couldn't wait to get their hands on them!

We have just started a new reading model at our school. It's the daily 5 model which is more of a center based reading! It gives the children a little more independence. We have always done a direct instruction so this has been a big change, but we are really loving it. I was in desperate need of some fun hands on learning games that would catch my students attention and it has! They are always eager for reading and each of the games focus a skill we are learning!

We cannot thank you enough for your wonderful donation and we will be forever grateful!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Paulsen

  • Imagination Station

    Funded Aug 24, 2018

My students and I are so grateful that you have donated these wonderful books to our classroom! The day we got them my students were so excited to open them and get their hands on them! My class really likes non fiction books and they love animals so they were beyond excited.

We just started a new reading program. It's the daily 5 model where it is more of a center type learning. We have always been direct instruction so this has been a major change and I was in desperate need of some leveled books for my class! In the current reading model each kid gets a book box with books at their level! They really love this and seem to take a lot of pride in their book boxes.

We can't thank you enough! We are so grateful for wonderful people like you who are willing to help our students and teachers in need:)”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Paulsen

  • Never Stop Learning!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Receiving these chrome books has been absolutely amazing! We have one desktop computer in my class and now having these chrome books I can allow more students to have access to them! We have been adding new programs to them daily and the students are absolutely loving every second of it! We have been using throughout the day in Reading, Math, and Science!

As my students get older they are going to have more access to different technology, so I am excited that I can introduce them to chrome books at an early age. I feel like this will help with confidence and overall success! We cannot thank you enough for your amazing donation!”

  • NEVER STOP LEARNING!

    Funded Jan 25, 2018

My class is so thankful for the privacy boards and magnetic letters! We use them daily! The class feels like they have more privacy when they are taking a test and it just gives them some time to be alone and feel no pressure! They have been more focused on their own work rather than what everyone else in the class is doing. The magnetic letters have been amazing in helping with our sight words and reading in general! We made words and are able to change them easily! They work well for small group instruction and independent work. I can't thank you enough for your wonderful donations!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Paulsen

Do you remember what its like to be five years old? When a minute seems like an hour and an hour seems like a day? Having to sit still, focus and learn in a new environment, when all you want to do is stand and move. As a kindergarten teacher I see kids on a daily and yearly basis that come into this exact environment and some struggle to learn and stay still, but I feel and have researched the helpfulness of wiggle chairs and products in the class room and feel that they would help this transition into learning be a welcoming and easier transition. Although there isn't a specific science or study that has been conducted there is an increase of teachers using wiggle chairs, or fidgets to help students focus and learn. The general consensus is that teachers are seeing a change in their students and their ability to focus and learn. Yes there is a learning curve with kids not wanting to sit still and in time they will have to learn it but there is also a large group of kids that need that to learn. Look at how much an adult fidgets and moves during the day, look at how we have made saying like " four on the floor" or stop doing that or you'll crack your head open. We see a group of kids with spectrum disorders that thrive if they can fidget and move, so why wouldn't we do try and help all our students in the same way. Currently I am hoping to outfit my classroom with KOBE wobble chairs that come in a variety of colors but are also around $70.00 each. I know from teaching kindergarten for over seven years that this will help.
