  • Math Madness

    Funded Apr 21, 2022

Thank you so much for the Math games! They have been amazing. We have been able to use them for math centers and the class loves them. They all have to do with the concepts I am teaching. For example we are learning addition and subtraction, missing addend, and shapes. It is a fun way to review everything I have taught them. I asked the class what their favorite activity is during the day and the majority of my class said Math games. Thank you so much for donating to my class. It means the world to us!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Paulsen

  • We Love Books!

    Funded Feb 17, 2022

Thank you so much for donating these wonderful books to my class. My kids were so excited to open this box and read these books. I was able to get some amazing books on kindness and incorporate them into daily lessons. This morning my kids ran right to the new books instead of playing with the toys in the morning like they usually do. This just made me so excited. Reading is really hard for some kids, so anytime we can make it fun and exciting they are more eager to like it. Thank you again for supporting my class!!”

  • Literacy For Life!!

    Funded Sep 10, 2021

My class received their awesome reading games and we are both in love with them. In my reading class we do a daily 5 reading style where they work on 5 different things. One of the 5 is called word work and these games are amazing for this. They are able to work on vowels, vowel teams, blends, and digraphs! A lot of these games also have a writing component to them. During this time they can play the games in a small group or they are able to do them individually so they work for all learners. I am so excited to keep using them! I am also very thankful for the kindness!!”

  • Bins Bind and more Bins!

    Funded Sep 17, 2020

These bins have been so helpful in organizing my classroom and students during this difficult time. I had cardboard book boxes before so the plastic ones have been amazing. They are also nice because I can clean them after each time we use them! Also, the big bins have been helpful in storing books and student materials, now that we have to keep everything separated. My class is so bright and cheerful with the beautiful bright colors they truly make me happy! My class and I are beyond grateful for the kindness you have shown is! Especially during this hard year!”

  • Teaching Through Technology

    Funded Aug 26, 2019

My class and I were so excited to open up our new chrome books! We have been able to use them daily. We only have access to a computer lab once a week so having these chrome books has made a huge impact in my classroom. We use them for Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies, and spelling!

In Reading I use them in our Daily 5 rotations where they listen to reading! They also use it to play fun interactive Reading games. In Math they play math games or use it for fact fluency! In science they love the kids discovery sites where they can learn about animals! Social studies they have used it for internet safety and map skills! We have so many more things to learn about chrome books and technology and I am so grateful my class can start this process! Thank you again for helping my students join the world of technology!”

  • Reading in Style

    Funded Jun 18, 2019

The moment we opened the boxes to see the pillows and games was amazing! They were jumping around all excited! They couldn't wait to use them.

We put the pillows in my window, which is our new reading nook! They have comfy pillows to sit and read and look out the windows! It made my classroom feel like a home! We were defiantly missing this. The colors are bright and inviting and the kids love them!

The interactive Reading games have been really fun to use during our word work time! The fit in perfectly with the curriculum and the kids have a blast being able to play while they are learning!

I can not thank you enough for supporting my class!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Paulsen

Do you remember what its like to be five years old? When a minute seems like an hour and an hour seems like a day? Having to sit still, focus and learn in a new environment, when all you want to do is stand and move. As a kindergarten teacher I see kids on a daily and yearly basis that come into this exact environment and some struggle to learn and stay still, but I feel and have researched the helpfulness of wiggle chairs and products in the class room and feel that they would help this transition into learning be a welcoming and easier transition. Although there isn't a specific science or study that has been conducted there is an increase of teachers using wiggle chairs, or fidgets to help students focus and learn. The general consensus is that teachers are seeing a change in their students and their ability to focus and learn. Yes there is a learning curve with kids not wanting to sit still and in time they will have to learn it but there is also a large group of kids that need that to learn. Look at how much an adult fidgets and moves during the day, look at how we have made saying like " four on the floor" or stop doing that or you'll crack your head open. We see a group of kids with spectrum disorders that thrive if they can fidget and move, so why wouldn't we do try and help all our students in the same way. Currently I am hoping to outfit my classroom with KOBE wobble chairs that come in a variety of colors but are also around $70.00 each. I know from teaching kindergarten for over seven years that this will help.
