  • Learning through Play!

    Funded May 7, 2024

My students received these amazing hands on learning games at the perfect time. My class is finishing all of our curriculum and it was a perfect way to introduce these learning games. They were so excited to play and learn. The math wipe off cards are perfect for centers and they align perfectly with our standards. The fact family math charts were a struggle this year and being able to work with my kids in a small group and practice made a huge difference!

  • Fine Motor Fun!

    Funded Apr 4, 2024

My students and I were so excited to use these awesome new tools. The kids seriously beg for me to use them daily and I am honestly seeing huge improvements with their handwriting!

We use the eggs as a warm up to help build muscle in our fingers and hands. Then we play the pick up games and weaving games. Then we end with the board that have the dented letters so they can work on taking their time and staying dents.

Writing has now become fun and not a chore! I can't thank you enough for supporting kids and teachers!”

Do you remember what its like to be five years old? When a minute seems like an hour and an hour seems like a day? Having to sit still, focus and learn in a new environment, when all you want to do is stand and move. As a kindergarten teacher I see kids on a daily and yearly basis that come into this exact environment and some struggle to learn and stay still, but I feel and have researched the helpfulness of wiggle chairs and products in the class room and feel that they would help this transition into learning be a welcoming and easier transition. Although there isn't a specific science or study that has been conducted there is an increase of teachers using wiggle chairs, or fidgets to help students focus and learn. The general consensus is that teachers are seeing a change in their students and their ability to focus and learn. Yes there is a learning curve with kids not wanting to sit still and in time they will have to learn it but there is also a large group of kids that need that to learn. Look at how much an adult fidgets and moves during the day, look at how we have made saying like " four on the floor" or stop doing that or you'll crack your head open. We see a group of kids with spectrum disorders that thrive if they can fidget and move, so why wouldn't we do try and help all our students in the same way. Currently I am hoping to outfit my classroom with KOBE wobble chairs that come in a variety of colors but are also around $70.00 each. I know from teaching kindergarten for over seven years that this will help.
