  • Emergent Readers Books!

    Funded Dec 9, 2021

First of all, that you for your donation to this project. The kids were so excited to get this package and were ready to open their new books and read. We have discussed fiction and non fiction using these new books. The books are always available for the students to pick from when they complete the assignments. They know that these books were purchased just for them.

In my classroom, I have picture books to 5th grade chapter books. I've taught all levels and I keep my books with me. Recently I was trying to make the library less messy and removed the higher leveled books. Ok, I left a few for the curious children. Books are always at their disposal.

It isn't until the last couple of weeks that I have noticed that the kids are actually reading the sight word books and some of the fiction books. I hear them sounding out the words and it makes me a pround mama. To see the growth with these kindergarten children as been such a blessing.

Thank you again for your support.”

  • Basic Classroom Supplies!

    Funded Dec 8, 2021

First of all, thank you so much for the donations. The Basic School Supply project came in time for the second half of the school year. The kids were able to begin the 2nd half with new supplies (crayons, color pencils, dry erase markers & cloths wipe). We utilize these things during foundation time.

The students are now adjusted to rotations and/or centers and love the different options at their centers which included water colors, modeling play doh, & paints. They get to use these items for letters, numbers and sight words. The students seem happier in rotations and I can see growth in their learning.

Finally, the laminating paper has allowed us to reduce the amount of paper copies we print. Students are reusing the same sheets and working with their dry erase markers. They enjoy that much more than completing a paper worksheet.

Thank you once again for your contribution.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Whitis

  • Snacks... Snacks... Snacks!

    Funded May 3, 2021

Just a note to say Thank you for your donation to this project. This is one of my favorite repeated projects. 2nd grade students eat breakfast at 10:45 a.m. Imagine them having to wait until after tutoring to finally get to eat a snack. They don't have to do that in my class. Snack are given away for rewards and if a student is in need of food to hold them over until their next meal. It has been a great incentive for completing their Happy Number Daily Assignments. Math scores have improved!

Today, some of the students witness the packages being delivered and were so excited. I allowed some to assist in opening of the packages. We organized our shipment and are ready to dig in.

    Thank you again.”

  • Floor Desks!

    Funded May 5, 2020

Just a few words to thank you for your donation to this project. We had to make some changes, but the changes were good. We ended up getting 5 chairs and chair bands for all student's chairs to keep those little feet busy. The children enjoy the bands tremendously One of the lamps is in use by my desk, however, the new one is still in its box waiting for us to be able to pull out the carpets, lights, etc... The 5 chairs are still in its box too. Both children and I are looking forward to using all equipment/furniture in the coming school year. We appreciate all that you do to help teachers, especially our classroom.”

  • Virtual Learning Incentives!

    Funded Sep 16, 2020

These virtual incentive cards were used during the first part of the school year when I was teaching 4th grade. The students absolutely loved them. They would earned them for various reasons from perfect attendance to honor roll to homework completed. The kids would pick the cards up weekly and then purchase their items. They were so excited, they couldn't wait to tell me what they purchased. They purchased school supplies, toys, and even stuff that was for their parents. I even received a gift.

Thank you for bringing a smile to their faces.”

  • Hybrid Learning Equipment!

    Funded Feb 2, 2021

Just taking some time to thank you for the equipment that my class received during this covid teaching time. The Bose Companion Speakers are the best. There is no lack of sound in this class. All children in my class can hear movies, lessons, etc... The keyboard and headphone that I received to help smooth out keystrokes and silence the outside sounds have just done that. It is wonderful.

I have a wonderful group of 14 students that are in my classroom right now. I have 4 virtual students. Every technology item we have had the pleasure of receiving has just enhanced our everyday learning. We are growing with technology together.

    Thank you.”

  • Classroom Printer!

    Funded Feb 2, 2021

Wow! Our school has one printer for all teacher's to use. SO, having a print for my classroom is totally beyond AWESOME! I'm able to print without having to leave my classroom and walk down the hallway to pick up printed work. I able to provide quick pop quizes and short reads for my students if necessary. Best of all, I am always ready and prepared for anything. I am able to take work home, my laptop and printer to prepare for the next weeks lesson. This is all possible, because of donors like you. I have grown so much in the technology department. Students love using their chromebooks and are happy when I can print their work.

Thank you once again and God Bless.”

    Ms. Whitis

  • TPT Gift Cards for Distance Learning!

    Funded Dec 3, 2020

This project was such an awesome idea. Because of the type of year we were having, being able to find resources was very helpful. Teacher pay teacher had resources that allowed us to find work that was already completed and ready to go. It was taking so much time to make assignments, transfer them into a google presentation (slide), etc... for each subject. Your donation to helping me help my students to well developed assignments was the key to a more successful school year. The kids enjoyed the assignments. They were user friendly and they are in my system for next years kids. I truly believe it was a great investment.

Thank you again for making this an easier transition in technology.”

  • Virtual Learning Snacks!

    Funded Feb 24, 2021

Oh my goodness, these kids enjoyed and are still enjoying the snacks that were provided from this project. Kids were given daily snacks as we had lunch at 10:45 and they became hungry early afternoon. They were also given snacks as rewards for completion of 30 minutes a day on happy numbers. This was a great incentive as students wanted that extra snack. Their math scores continue to rise. At the end of the school year, I anticipate 7 students to be in level 3rd grade math. All others will have moved into 2nd or at end of 2nd grade levels. This is a great accomplishment as they were so far behind when they came back to the classroom.

Thank you once again for your contribution to this project.”

  • Two Monitors for Ms. Whitis!

    Funded Nov 13, 2020

First of all, thank you for the donation to this project. The split screens for on-line teaching has made a huge impact with how I am approaching lessons this school year. At first, I was able to have three different applications open and was able to see all through the three screens. Keeping an eye on my students was key.

Now, I have approximately 80% of my students back in the classroom and the remaining still at home. The split screens allow me to work with both in school and homeschool students with ease.

Once again, thank you. I' not sure what I would have done this year without this technology. I am more knowledgeable when it comes to technology now.”

In reading, it is vital for our students to have a variety of language arts stations. We currently do not have a listening center that is usable for our students. Incorporating a listening center will aid in the enhancement of my students reading comprehension skills. It is also a fun and interactive way for my students to read and listen along to the author! An effective listening center increases their listening comprehension level, which helps them as they progress through their academic career! Having audio-books, headphones, and a CD/cassette player, I will be able to broaden my classroom listening and technology center! Listening is essential to a child's development.
