  • A Relaxed Classroom Accommodates All Students in a Successful learning..

    From our classroom to you, we want to thank you for your kind donation. These cushions and seats for our classroom. Our students can't express how thankful they are. And our next steps are to create different stations in our classrooms that will accommodate different learners. These chairs are awesome and we couldn't of completed this project without you.   • Chrome Books in Classroom: Digital Information to Inspire the Future

    Words can't express how thankful we are to have these Chromebooks in our classroom. In our school, we have one computer lab for the entire school. We usually do not have the opportunity to use the lab daily. However, with these new Chromebooks we have access to the internet and resources whenever we want because they are in our classrooms. Having technology in our classroom is such a great way to conduct any research based projects, math interactive games and programs, using an updated dictionary including the sound and pronunciation guide. These Chromebooks allow my students to explore beyond any text and inquire about ideas and topics that interest them. The most exciting part of using these chromebooks is being able to have access to it, when we please and using it when we need to use it, without waiting for our turn in the computer lab. Most of our students do not have laptops and computers at home. By having computers in the classroom, students are able to research their science fair project topics, any end of a unit topics, or even read ebooks online. Some of our students read below grade level and they learn words from hearing it in the first read and their fluency begins to build. These Chromebooks are helping our above average students with challenging activities and providing scaffolding to our low average learners. Overall, these Chromebooks have created an innovative, exciting and successful environment to all our learners. From class 3-2 in Crown Heights, Brooklyn to you.... we thank you once again from the bottom of our hearts. You have made our year AWESOME!”

Students often get discouraged with an activity when they are consistently using the same research books. Sometimes the text is too hard, not enough photos or text features, even so the information may not be sufficient. Most of these books do not have up to date information or there isn't enough information. This donation will allow students to use current technology to understand the retrieve and apply them to current up to date information. Students will use different programs and websites that will allow them to learn new relevant information about their researched topic on sea animals. Students will get a chance to view videos and clips of their animals, and feel as if they were there. Our students will be thrilled because most of them they do not have the access or opportunity to visit places outside of the United States. Therefore, attaining a Chromebook would give them a excitement because they could visit or travel different places without leaving their seats! Having their own Chromebook will encourage them to look for more details and provide more insight on their topic. My LD students will gain confidence in their researched based skills by having the opportunity to use technology. They will be able to expand and explore new ideas. Most of my visual and tactile students will benefit from Chromebooks because they will have access to photographs, sound clips, search engine bars and access to type their reports create group PowerPoint projects. In our classrooms, these books will help us to throughout the day from looking up words in the dictionary (because our dictionaries are out dated to playing math programs such as Mathletics to compete math problems with students around the world).
