Leveled Readers for Beginner Readers!
Funded May 30, 2020Thanks to your generosity and support for my donors choose project. With it we will have the necessary leveled books we need and use in our classroom.
My goal as a second grade teacher is that all students will leave my room knowing how to read well, with fluency and comprehension.
At this time however with the pandemic our school administration has advised that we do not share books as we would not be able to disinfect it appropriately. It saddens me a great deal but I know that once this passes we will greatly enjoy the books in our classroom.”

Funded Dec 20, 2019Thank you so much for funding our Literacy games for our students in Kindergarten through second grade.
We've already opened the games up and worked with them today.
The students all agreed this was the best day ever and they're super excited to be able to play games and learn at the same time.
The different skills we are working on is 1. Reading for details, 2. Context clues, 3. Following directions, 4. Informational text, 5. Predict outcomes, 6. Sequence of events.
Each of these skills are foundational and are needed for the success in future testing grades.”

Coding Robots and Math
Funded Oct 17, 2018Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for your generous donations to help my classroom get our materials funded. We are currently enjoying our coding robots and we just received our math centers that will help us better understand math concepts.
We will introduce our new math centers in small groups first so that they can practice the center with minimal distractions and teacher guidelines.
We will now have meaningful TEKS related math centers that will reinforce math topics previously taught and for future math concepts not yet learned.
Our students are really enjoying the coding robots, they have practically mastered some basic codes that will help with their learning in the near future.”

Funded Sep 9, 2018Thank you so much for contributing to our classroom. Students have been able to create multiple STEM based projects with these new materials. I am planning on setting up several challenges for students to create different architectural buildings using these materials. Students have been so excited and eager for these items to arrive and couldn't wait to tear into the boxes. We are looking forward to all the wonderful things that the students come up with to showcase their creativity. Thank you again!”

Flexible Seating and Geometry
Funded Mar 21, 2018The new furniture will provide the students with a different option besides a hard chair. Many students also have attention problems, being able to move and change seating can eliminate the behavior issues that may arise. They can pull the chairs together as they are reading and discussing.
Again, students spend so much time in the classroom and they need to be comfortable.
That may be having a chair that allows them to move, a classroom that they can collaborate, and even a spot where they can work in peace. These students are learning that a classroom is not just within the four walls of a classroom. It doesn't have to be a place that is uncomfortable. This helps these students get a chance for change.
The students have already gotten to use the geometric shapes. It has helped them understand the geometric attributes: sides, vertices, edges, and faces. By being able to hold the geometric shapes in their hands, they are able to visually and kinesthetically see and feel what we are looking for.”

Science Kits and Math Games!
Funded Nov 10, 2017Thank you so much for your contributions to my second grade classroom. With the donations we were able to purchase quite a few math games that helped my students become so much better at our math skills and concepts. It is building our family like environment, their social interactions/skills-i.e. sharing, taking turns, communication skills. The students are able to actively engage in the physical properties for our science unit as well as the pulley and force motion unit. Later on in the year, we will be studying the life cycle of butterflies and other insects and now we have a magnetic diagram to illustrate this properly for them to see and interact with. I hope that you enjoy the pictures as much as we had fun taking them.”

Math Materials Needed!
Funded Jan 30, 2017I am writing this letter to thank you for your generous donation to my class' education. The money you donated was used for our class math manipulatives. We divided into groups to answer questions on addition facts and simple one digit multiplication problems. Thank you so much for your generous donations to my class. Students have been so excited to learn with dominoes as a math manipulative (addition and multiplication). Also, the Legos for our S.T.E.M. projects where they work cooperatively to create what is asked of them from varying levels of task cards.
The pencils were also in high demand and the students greatly appreciate your support for our class.”
