Kids love to use technology. Aside from it being part of their daily lives, it is really a great and valuable tool for learning. Right now, I have one iPad to use for my entire class. Recently, students created videos in small groups to show what they had learned at the end of one of our history units. To make this happen, I had to borrow iPads from other members of the staff. If I can get these Chromebooks, we can integrate technology into our learning every day. Students can research on them for projects. They can type up papers they've written. We can use them for literacy stations or to create presentations. I can put our unit reading onto them so students can listen to the stories. Students could create review tools to help study for tests. There are so many ways we would be able to use them every day. Our school has a tech lab where students get to go once, maybe twice a week, but our classroom needs technology that students can use every day. I have seven table groups in my classroom so this would give each group a chromebook at their fingertips whenever they need. This technology is so valuable to have right in the classroom and will make it so my students have every opportunity to learn and be as successful as possible.
