My school has not had an art program for some time. There is no stockpile of supplies, so the supplies I do have are used up very quickly with no reservoir to tap into. Right now, my students draw on copier paper with regular no. 2 pencils. My classroom has very basic needs: decent drawing paper, erasers, black markers for outlining. The few times I am able to get "real" art supplies to them (think: colored pencils or a paintbrush) they light up as if they have been given a magic wand. They would be so happy to have simple things like colored pencils or crayons that are not broken.
