Stories for STEAM!
Funded Aug 22, 2018The students are having such a great time listening to these stories, using new vocabulary and coming up with solutions to problems related to the book by using their imagination and creativity. They are taking important ela skills with them such as sequencing, personification, retelling a story and so much more. Who would think that 7 year olds would have a discussion (a silly one) about onomatopoeia...
We have created a transporter for a pumpkin out of yarn, we have created cardboard playgrounds, and the balances the littlest ones created for the witch and her friends from Room On A Broom were amazing. We are creating an amazing "I am thankful for..." balloon parade this week. We are very thankful for you!!”

Funded Aug 22, 2018The students have been very busy working on all of their amazing STEAM projects. They are so excited to have small notebooks for their blueprints, crayons, pencils markers, rulers and all they supplies they may need for their work but didn't have with them.
As the carts came rolling down the hallway they were so excited - and they could not believe they were full of materials that they could choose from and use. This month we are working very hard on a few projects - our very own Thanksgiving "float" and balloons, marionette puppets to dance in the parade and the most magnificent inventions - all of course are STEM projects.
Thank you again so much!! Hope you enjoy our pictures - we wouldn't be able to do this without you!”

Funded Mar 27, 2018Wishes do come true!! We were so interested in building an amusement park for Project Based Learning. Learning and designing are fun - building the rides out of paper is fun but WOW when the kids saw the K'Nex sets and found out they can not only BUILD an amusement park but use motors to operate them you couldn't contain the excitement. The children are excited to learn - to create - to imagine and know they have a space to safely fail and try again until their work is just right! Thank you so much for enriching these children's lives! I think after we build we should make a sign and call the park Ripple!!!
Sincerely - all the students”

Funded Mar 27, 2018STEAM and CS are growing in the public schools and I believe they are so important for our students. I have been coming up with ways to start a makerspace for the children to use. Thankfully our wish was granted. We came back from vacation and saw all of the boxes! The children's faces lit up looking at the Bloxels and can't wait to build their very own video game. Legos - we definitely have at least 2 huge Lego fans in our class - and the storage!! Bins and buckets and shelves to organize and label and keep our new treasures safe! Thank you so much! You have truly made a difference in the students lives.”

Funded Nov 17, 2014I am so grateful that you chose our science program. The students are going to be so excited when they see the books and the read aloud books that go with the materials. We are going to be able to get the students thinking, predicting and doing wonderful experiments. I cannot wait to start showing the children how to use the tools and watch their faces as they see chemical changes, water evaporate and condense and come up with an experiment of their own. We would not have such a wonderful opportunity without your help. Thank you so much!! We will post and share pictures so that you may see how the projects go and how happy and excited the children are while they learn!”

Ms. Stuart
