My students struggle each day to become better readers, however I don't allows have the ability to provide my students books on their level. Many of the books given to me are for third grade reading level students. However, most of my students are struggling to read 1st and 2nd grade materials, so these books in my classes only make my students feel defeated, frustrated, and give up on reading the high level books, because it's just too difficult for them. If they are given books at their level, not only will their confidence increase, but also their reading skills and comprehension capabilities; where they will feel more confident in challenging new material.
