I recently learned about CGI and I am excited to implement it in my classroom this upcoming school year. I want us to start with counting collections as counting is the basis for problem-solving. CGI will engage my students in counting collections by using different strategies and learning from each other. They will start with what they know, such as skip counting. There will be small, medium, and big collections. With practice, these skills will transfer to solving word problems. I will be working on building collections this summer for our next school year and the Lakeshore Math Counters would also be nice for my students to use. They would be excited to use those math counters. Thank you for your time.
