Funded Mar 27, 2024Since receiving my laminator and sheets, I've laminated materials that can be reused many times. I don't have to worry that papers will be ripped as they are very durable. I can even use dry erase markers on some laminated worksheets which can then be erased and reused.
I have also used these materials to create low tech communication boards for my students who are minimally verbal. The communication boards can be used with multiple students without becoming ruined. This project has positively impacted my students and I thank you for your contribution.”

Funded Oct 11, 2023Thank you so much for your donations for this project! Since I have received my printer, I have been able to print easily for my classroom. I can now print wirelessly, making it more convenient to print during therapy sessions if the need arises. In addition, the color ink has made materials more fun for my students.
The printer is eco-friendly and the ink lasts for a long time, refilling from bottles not cartridges. Thank you for helping me support the environment as well as my students. Your generosity does not go unnoticed!”

This classroom project was brought to life by The DonorsChoose Community & an Anonymous Partner and 7 other donors.(Not) Feeling COVID-19
Funded Sep 22, 2020Thank you so much for the books! I have students both virtually and in person, and students have been interested in the books through both modalities. Because of your donations, my students have transitioned into this school year more easily and smoothly, with special attention being given towards their mental health. For example, "The Great Book of Feelings" has been useful for students to more easily express themselves when many of them do not have the vocabulary to explain the complex feelings and emotions they have had. My last photo is an example of an activity I used in conjunction with this book in order to further discuss emotions and assess understanding of various feelings.
Again, THANK YOU for your support.”

The Motivational Speech-er
Funded May 8, 2017Thank you so much for donating to this project! I have already seen the impact the materials have had on my students. I've been starting to think about all of the materials I can create with my laminating sheets!
Many of my students have been very interested in the fidget toys, and they fully understand the reason for them (after a thorough explanation!). I had told them we could try out different ones to see which worked best for each student who needed one, and during our first session using them one of my students tried to make it a competition to see if he was more focused than his peer!
I have also loved the phonics stamps and What's Happening? picture cards. The stamps are a great motivator. They and the language picture cards are such useful tools which I'll be able to use in many different ways. Lastly, the language games are always a fun way to use language in different contexts, and what better way to motivate than in the context of a game?
Thank you again for your donations!”

Speaking of Copies..
Funded Jan 23, 2017Thank you so much for your donations! My students saw the printer and immediately started asking questions about it. They recognized the importance of this type of technology for teachers and how something as simple as having an easier way to copy materials could mean an improvement in learning for them.
I had a discussion with a few of my students about the Donors Choose website, who donated to our project, and what that meant. The concept of strangers donating money for us was so foreign (and strange!) for them. They realized the generosity so many people have, and this was eye-opening for them, especially because many of their families don't have the means to be generous with things like toys or even school supplies.
So thank you again! My students and I appreciate every single donation.”
