Funded Aug 24, 2023My students were very excited when they first saw the air quality meters. They were eager to learn how to use them and to start collecting data about our classroom.
We are currently monitoring the air quality in the classroom. The have recorded the difference in levels of particulate matter (PM2.5) when the windows are open or closed as well as when the air filters are on and off.
Once students have collected data on air quality in the classroom under different conditions, they will take them outside the classroom to see the levels of air pollution outside and in their homes. We are interested to see how factors such as smoking inside or being near a major street impacts air quality.
I am confident that having these air quality meters will be a valuable learning experience for my students. They will be learning about air pollution in a real-world context, and they will be developing important research skills. I am also excited that they will be using their knowledge to potentially make a difference in their community.
Thank you again for your generous contribution to this project. Your support is making a real difference in the lives of my students.”
With gratitude,
Dr. D.
