  • Learning About Nature Through Coding

    Funded Mar 28, 2017

Thank you so much for your generous donations. Without your compassion and assistance, such opportunities would not be possible for our wonderful and hardworking students. We are so excited to show you all the amazing simulations we will now be able to create with the new Chromebooks. Our students deserve technology that will enhance their learning, and with your heartwarming contributions, they now have it. Once again, thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Gaglio

  • Germinate, Innovate, Advocate

    Funded Feb 6, 2017

I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the kindness and compassion you have shown the students in my classroom. Teachers are so lucky to have donors like you who see the value in what we do each and every day to enrich the lives of our students. We are so excited to begin the process of creating our ozone garden from seeds, and it is only possible from your humbling generosity. This project will empower my students to advocate for the environment and instill them with the knowledge that they can care for the world around them. It truly takes a village, and donors like you make all the difference. Like our garden, your donations will help the amazing students in my classroom grow into lifelong learners.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Gaglio

Our class has begun working with a local botanical garden in an effort to provide our students with the remarkable opportunity to explore their understanding of the environment through the StarLogo coding program. As 21st century learners, technology has become an essential part of education and our daily lives. Unfortunately, the majority of our computers are outdated or broken, limiting opportunities for my students to learn computer science and programming. When students learn to code, they are not only developing their ability to problem solve, analyze variables, and use logical reasoning in the classroom, but they are empowering themselves to tackle the challenges of their daily lives. These Chromebooks will give my deserving students access to technology that fosters their growth, regardless of their socioeconomic status or home life. They will get to analyze air pollution, plant growth and precipitation, and create their own simulations. My students will see their imaginations come to life through the StarLogo program, and they will continue on the path of becoming lifelong learners.
