  • Bridging the Gap Through Literature

    Funded Aug 13, 2020

Thank you for your most thoughtful donation to our classroom! It really made a difference for both our students and myself. Thanks to you, my students now have access to wonderful texts that tell stories that they can relate to and learn from.

When they first saw the books, they couldn't wait to get their hands on them and begin reading and learning. Once we started reading the texts, they were FULLY engaged and motivated.

They especially love read aloud time. It seems to be the most expected and enjoyed part of the day. Some students have stated that the stories are so good they can't get enough.

Once again thank you for your kind support!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. G.

  • The Bare Necessities Of Remote School Life

    Funded Aug 13, 2020

Thank you so much for your most kind contributions. As a result of your donations, my students were more prepare than ever to learn. They were able to get right into learning without having to worry about not having the most basic supplies. They use their durable, color folders to organize and carry their work back and forth from home to school and vice versa. In addition, they are reading great literature that represents their interests and cultural backgrounds.

This school year has been quite a different one due to the circumstances. We first met virtually and that alone was a BIG challenge. However, I was delighted to be able to share the wonderful news with them. Their faces lit up with smiles as I show them their supplies and books. They seemed both relieved and eager to start the year.

My students will be able to get new supplies as soon as their old ones run out or tear. They won't need to worry about replacing or losing anything, but instead they can focus on growing, learning and having fun! This is all thanks to your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. G.

The students in my class will be extremely excited to see the new supplies that will help them soar and shine. The books will help enhance our Reading and Writing units. The glitter and other art materials will help them explore their artistic talents. In general, your gift will help them grow as learners. It means so much to us (my students and me) that you care and support our class.

Thank you so much for your kindness! As a result of your generous donation, my students can practice multiple reading skills such as: orienting, vocabulary acquisition, envisioning, predicting, establishing point of view, etc. while reading beautiful and engaging stories. The students enjoy listening to the stories during our whole class read-aloud. In addition, through these texts my students are learning lessons about life that highlight positive character values. Once again thank you for your support.”

  • Enhancing Learning Through Art

    Funded Oct 1, 2014

Thank you very much for the wonderful donation to my class. What a generous gift! My students couldn't believe all the supplies we received. Art class is so much more fascinating now that we have these tools. My students were thrilled to be able to paint using watercolors, and pastels. For many of them it was their first time using these types of media. We have also used the markers, and erasers during word work time. Learning about words and how language works has suddenly become more enjoyable and engaging. We truly appreciate your thoughtfulness. Your timing was perfect.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. G.

  • Let's Kick Off a Great School Year!

    Funded Dec 4, 2011

I cannot begin to express my gratitude for your generosity. Your donation means the world to me, and most importantly, to my wonderful students! They simply couldn't wait to put the supplies to use! It is great to know that you care about education as much as I do.

Because of your donation, my students have access to all the basic supplies needed in a successful classroom. They have used the art supplies to express themselves and create unique pieces of work that go along with reading, math, and writing lessons. They constantly talk about how "cool" their materials and tools are and feel proud of what they create and accomplish. These supplies have helped make learning fun for them and have given hands-on learners a fantastic way to display their knowledge. Thank you again! You have made us so happy!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. G.

  • Enhancing Our Literacy Skills With Touch Tone Texts

    Funded Dec 15, 2009

Thank you for your kindness and generous donation. My students are delighted with the stories and their motivation for reading has increased. They take turns reading the books independently and to each other.

All New York City schools are presently taking enormous budget cuts, and without your generosity, my students wouldn't have been able to listen to and read these wonderful stories that support our Reading and Writing curriculum.

Once again thank you so much. You have made a difference in the lives of my students!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. G.
