Our school is a Title I school in Oklahoma City where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Many of our students are facing many socioeconomic challenges that hinder their academic success.It feels strange to offer a snack to highschool student but what I know is without a full stomach many can not focus on learning. I will love to provide snacks for my students, not as a reward always, but simply because they need it to boost their energy and help them to focus on their academics. This is a need that can easily be remedied by offering a snack students can achieve their learning goals because hunger is unimaginable. Also many struggle in math and these resources can give students the opportunity to make gains in their academic success. Each scholar brings a unique set of talent and energy that we help channel and mold to amazing futures.We have the awesome opportunity to meet them where they are and to bring them up and help them soar.
