Students will be starting to use the readers' and writers' workshop model this year. Each child will need to keep a reading book, a writer's notebook, and a reader's journal in the classroom. Literacy skills will be taught and then students will set goals for the day. Missing or misplaced materials are a constant headache for students and the teacher alike. These organizational materials will enable us to save our work in one place and always be ready for learning instead of searching. Students will become better at organizing themselves which leads to greater independence and builds trust in their peers.
